Goldeneye!

Was just talking to my friend about this, he was the only one out of our group that could do it

IIRC it literally took me weeks and was the last cheat I needed to fully unlock '007' on your save card. Surprised I didn't smash my controller to pieces, I best have a backup at the ready as I clearly don't have as much patience as I did in my teens :p

Is it that level that you blow up the big container tanks at the end? 'cos I remember ******* up and blowing myself up in my rush when I otherwise would have beaten it :D

Yep, you start in the vents!

Who remembers the hack to get back up into the vent? It was something like rotate right with the yellow buttons whilst holding the analogue stick left. Good times!

I remember that trick. I also did 00 in 2:05 (I think) the game was so addictive. It was also the first game that ever gave me motion sickness too. The struggle was real. I would play 10 minutes feel horribly sick but loved the game so much play again 20 minutes later for another 10 minutes over and over.

What are they doing with the controls?

Is it being modernised to play like a regular FPS as I played Goldeneye on an N64 at Arcade Club in Leeds a couple of years back and was horrific to control.

Surely will need to modernise them, neither the Xbox or Switch will lend itself to the same control scheme, I guess some have the "Retro N64" Switch joy pad but not all.
For what its worth the leaked XBLA "remake" from a few years ago had a modernised control scheme.

I'm sure it's been confirmed that there is a dual analogue control mode.

They’ll have to change it for the “new generation” (I’m feeling so old rn :() but could easily implement it with one analogue stick and d-pad to replicate the former glorious controls.
