Golf Thread

35pts in the morning roll up. Could have been a very nice round but for some poor irons over the closing three holes which cost me at least 3pts. Still, a very solid display of putting meant I avoided any blobs on the card which was nice. 87 (+16 gross of the yellows) was the final tally. Summer like conditions, bar the greens still recovering from maintenance, meant you could get away with the old slightly heavy strike. Strokeplay comp tomorrow so hopefully I can maintain the good putting and tidy up my ball striking. Definitely hitting it further than ever when I do find the middle so winter swing speed training paying me back :)
 
What a start by Rory, 1st birdie, 2nd Eagle and now he leads. Incredible, if he hadn't of had them 2 bad holes at the end of the 1st round he's be 5 clear. Playing out his skin!
 
Setup for a cracking Sunday at the Masters, Mcilroy is going to take some beating if he plays like he has today but there's probably any one of about 8 could walk away with the green jacket tomorrow though, looking forward to it!

I really hope not, he looks different this time!

However Bryson chasing in second is a scary looking leaderboard, he can match Rory on the long holes for eagle attempts. There might be some mind game with club selection, I just want Rory to smash it.
 
well..couldn't manage to the net today, been working on my rotation of the shoulders and when i execute it does help the distance and control. booked a tee time tomorrow at 8.15 so will get working on the swing in my first proper round of the year! :eek:

But looking forward to it!
