So happy for Rory 6th person to win the grand slam.

But I'm sure some ***** woman footballer that nobody's ever heard of will win the BBC SPOTY
You must lead a very tedious and angry life that your first reaction after such an incredible weekend of golf is that. Who gives a ****.

Incredible mental strength from McIlroy to get it over the line, watching that was agony.

It's horrible supporting Rory with those ups and downs, it's stressful :p

Happy for him to finally get both that 'next' major but also complete the career slam. Kinda can't help but think that without that pressure on he might win a few more in the coming years...

I had £2 each on Rory and Aberg to win, Rory at 8/1 so a whopping £18 back \o/ Just put £6 on him to win each of the next majors :p

Played 18 here today, course is in very good condition, probably best fairways I've been on this year, greens were decent as well, very consistent.
I was meant to be out with a 4-ball yesterday morning at Scoonie but the fact I've sliced the top of my thumb off kyboshed that which is frustrating because it is playing very well.

Hoping the rain this week is going to soften some of the greens up - played Kinghorn a couple of weeks ago and the greens were absolutely rock solid. Off 2nd on Sunday morning at Kinghorn so hoping the rain lets up a bit...

I'm bleary eyed this morning but it was worth it to see him on that green when the putt to win finally went in. And to have Rose there with him was truly a tearjerker. So glad he's finally got that burden off his shoulders.

I'm Italy and was following this by refreshing the BBC sport page, as I couldn't work out how to watch/listen to it live. Not the best experience, but it did deliver the drama in a manner!

My wife doesn’t do late nights but even she put her foot down last night and said we weren’t going to bed until she’d seen him in the green jacket. It’s probably our favourite sporting weekend of the year and this year’s tournament was unreal.

McIlroy’s approach on 15 is probably up there with Bubba Watson’s shot on 10 out of the pine straw for my favourite ever Masters shots. It’s great watching the pros hit regulation shots but when they get creative it turns up some incredible moments.

Bubba's hook was awesome, Rorys reminded me of it as well.
What a weekend of golf! Roll on the ryder cup!

Utterly mentally exhausted after that last night.... Amazing drama / viewing....

Props to Rory for getting it done - Some terrible shots played (the wedge at 13th with 20 yards left of that flag to play to was just bizarre) - Some good luck - ball stopping on 11 and throught the trees on 5 and 7....

But man - That 7 iron into 15 will live with me for a long long time - that is one of the best golf shots I've ever watched... a BIG boy golf shot.

Delighted for him to get the monkey off his back - could seriously free him up for a really mad stretch of golf....

Feel for Rose - class act as always - 10 birdies on Sunday at Augusta - crazy stuff....

But what a sporting event - fabulous stuff and will live long in the memory....

I had Rory, Scheffler and De Chambeau each way and won £142.50 from £50 stake so very happy!

Can't remember a day of golf like that since Medinah in 2012.

Rory's emotions and reaction reminded me of Andy Murray in 2013.
Good shout - insane weight of history to carry. Let's hope McIlroy kicks on in the same way Murray did, he has more majors in him for sure. He's in with a great chance at the US PGA especially.

Also very tired today. Was a great watch.
I wonder if putting Bryson away after 12 holes caused Rory to lose a little focus. Almost like the job was nearly done.
Fully expected him to go for 13th in 2. Laying up is possibly the correct play, but I think it affected his mindset. Even if he's in the water for 2, worst case really is a 6.
Mind you, we have all hit that type of wedge shot :D
The shots on 15 and 17 were insanely good.
Really pleased for him.

That 4 iron draw on the 15th is one of the greatest shots he's got to of ever hit. Under pressure like that. Just unbelievable.

You mean 7 iron....That was what he hit last night from there. He had 8 iron but saw Bryson dump it in the water and switched to 7 iron...

Genuinely the best golf shot I've ever seen considering the potential danger tariff of that shot and the point in the round.
