Another wonderful Master video. Ken Griffey Jr who is a hall of fame baseball player, passionate photographer gets a chance to shoot the masters last year.... What a seat for the 18th he had.... Really cool video to watch what goes into working/pictures etc.

Masters - Wide open - potentially anyone's....
Scottie won't be far away I'm sure, Rory might not be arsed after last year, Rahm playing very very good....
But I've gone for Bryson (10's) / Aberg (12) / Bhatia (41) / Day (51).... All each way top 12....

Clubhouse golf fitting in Warrington today, struggled with shanking to start with but quickly got past that and was hitting reasonably well. My own players distance irons I can get to around 145 with a nice flight when I hit them well but loose a lot when off center. I tried the ping g440 and mizuno HL again along with QI max , quantom os, Wilson dynapower and cobra king max irons
If I was to chose on what made me smile the most when hit was the mizuno however average including the slightly chunky shots every now and then was a bit down whereas the cobra my average total distance with 7 iron was over 150 including chunks. Just seemed almost hard to not get a good strike out of it. The max is higher lofted than the normal cobra king irons.

The Cobras are cheaper than the others but sizeable compared to older cobra models and stuff on Callaway pre-owned. Think I'll kick myself every time I hit a bad shot if I ignore the fitting

Went out when I was home (pretty achy after hitting about 120shots in fitting) and played well. Played 10 holes and got 2 pars mostly single bogeys with a triple on the last hole as I lost a ball. Handicaps creeping the wrong direction but still have the target around under 17 by end of summer.

Good news from my lesson yesterday and somewhat to my surprise my club path. with my irons at least, has straightened out compared to the last time we checked. Hadve gone from around 6 degrees out to in to under 4. With a couple of tweaks during the lesson I was getting it down around 2 and had one at 0.4  Unheard of for me. More pleasingly I was hitting it great, god knows where this was at the weekend! Woods were still an issue mind but I've got a new swing thought for them, keeping my back to the target for as long as possible. Shows a lot of promise but will need a session on the range to bed in and get more confident.

Out at Cumberwell today, it's hot, as a Ginger it's definitely verging on too hot :p Especially to be carrying, probably didn't help that I didn't really eat anything but hey.

Overally played 'ok' again, nothing special but ok. Hit a few good drives, putting was solid. Scored 34 so I guess that makes sense, but also completely ran out of energy on the last few holes and my swing went very 'armsy', same happened on Monday tbh, need to fuel better I guess.

Ordered my irons 7 irons for £779 seems pretty decent value. Got myself a motorcaddy push trolly from motorcaddy direct as ex display. Found carrying a few times a week is making my shoulder ache.
Gping to get a hybrid, is there much in them or just get a previous model? I'll just want a high launching one in whatever reg shaft they have.
Thinking either TM qi35 to match the driver or go cobra to match the irons

Best hybrid I've hit was the ping g430 followed closely by the qi10. I defo wouldn't go about wasting money on the newest model out there!! Those two were leagues above the rest when I tried them all, that was 4/22 degree.

LIV golfers struggling at the masters, Rory looks like he's been set free, just hearing him talk, he almost looks like he's floating. He was missing left, then right and still made a 67(-5).

There's nothing better than a weekend of playing golf in the morning and masters on the Tele in the evening.

Bryson +4. Lols. (Yes, I'm a member of the Bryson Hater Club :p)

Bit disappointed by Penge, he's looked good in recent PGA events but yeah.

Since when has Rory had hot starts though? That's not his usual way of going about things...

Yeah, just watched the video they've put up of every shot from his round. Clearly not exactly playing perfect golf but getting it done nonetheless, not sure if that's a good sign in that he'll refine the swing and start a birdie fest or a bad sign in that he'll keep missing fairways/greens but make mistakes in the scramble... Even putting it seemed he often wasn't scaring the hole and even leaving himself 3-4 footers for par. Could easily have been way worse!

I do feel a bit for Bryson, since he started on Youtube he's come across as a lot more likeable - I used to think he was a bit of an arrogant douchebag but have changed my tune towards him now. Glad Rory has started strong, could he do back to back?!

Good to know thanks the g430 is still available in stock shaft and was tempted, seems crazy to go up the latest version. I'm looking at something I can hit longer than a 5iron so 4hybrid is likely the number and going off loft will be

Just got back from quick 9, decided to just take 4 clubs so of course had a decent round, makes perfect sense :p

Had 5w, 7 iron, 52-degree and putter which was good enough, I thought the 7 iron might be a little short but was hitting it well enough (and probably being a bit warmer/less wind) that it was fine. Shot +7 over 9 which I'll take any day around that course, last time I played there was the medal comp and I shot 48 and 55...

I have mental issues clearly  :p Take away the pressure and give me nothing to think about with club choice and I can still actually play it seems!

Maybe even try a 3 if you can, and/or 5 wood, I personally prefer the look of a fairway wood but a 3 hybrid/5 wood will go similar-ish distances and both are a nice long club to have in the bag imo

My mizuno 5 wood I either flush really well or duff it. Nothing in the middle so hoping a hybrid is a little easier as it'll be more like hitting an iron.
Watched a chap on YouTube called golf sidekick, quite like his video on breaking 90, talks about playing simple and sensible. Went out this morning and lost 6 balls (low sun for a few) and a couple of miss hits over some water. Despite loosing 6 balls I was 14 over through 9 which for me showed I was actually playing well, no more than a double bogey for the 9 holes and a few pars when I didn't loose the ball.
Least I use cheap golf balls, off to the range tomorrow to practise some bits and then aiming for a full 18 on Monday
