I've spotted a bracket that is cheap and easy to buy on another forum, just search for "Nexus Double Twin HDD decoupling" in google and it's the top result.

Finally got round to sticking 8GB Kingston ECC in mine and so far-so good, think it's resolved my Server 2012 stability issues. Probably resolved some issues I was having under ESXi too.
Strange thing was I had run memchecks on the old generic non-ecc stuff and it wasn't bad - had only ran for a single full pass though.

VTX3D AMD Radeon HD 6450 2Gb.

Just put one of these in mine, easy fit but no low profile bracket included so ordered one off ebay.

What bios settings should I use for the card? Although I set the system ram used for graphics card at 32mb within bios. It's hogging more than this. Surely I can disable the onboard graphics and just utilise the 2gb on the card. System ram is 8gb.

Feels like a much bigger difference in performance. Graphics went form 3.1 to 4.1 and gaming graphics from 4.6 to 5.9, although I am using this to stream Movies only - no games

Probably already covered but is anyone using scheduled sleep/wake up timers with Server 2008 R2?

I'm guessing I can just schedule tasks to put it to sleep, and schedule another one to wake it up - can anyone confirm this works?

i don't know the answer to your query, but, could you tell us what RAM you have bought? A few people have expressed an interest in getting 16GB so just curious as to which modules you bought, that were compatible.

So far so good installed the RAM and its showing up as the full 16gig. Installing ESXi to usb now to start having some fun with some vms!

Just bought mine, should be delivered tomorrow. Now to get some RAM and hard drives for it. Reading through the thread should keep me busy for a while over lunch.

I'm going to use mine as a home server. Hopefully for streaming to apple tv and as a backup server etc.

Going to try Windows Server 2012 on it and see how it goes. Can use the 250GB HDD that came with it to try out different some different OS's. Will try put some big 3TB drives in it.

Why you asking your offtopic question in this thread? You might have more luck with your own thread. To give you some sort of answer you can probably do what you want to using a hypervisor.
Because I didn't see the question as being off-topic. I regard the question as relating to the function of the server and considering this is the owners thread I felt that asking about a possible dual use of the server, someone else in this thread might have tried it and realised it didn't work for whatever reason.

Sorry if you felt that this was an off-topic question but I didn't so I asked. :)

Are you sure you didn't mean to post in the ML110 owners thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18410198 ?

I just re-read your post and it doesn't make reference to the Microserver at all

Hmm not really. That thread is about running 32GB of RAM. I'm asking about whether any HP ProLiant server could be used for dual purposes. Considering this thread has over 140 pages and the other 4 I thought I'd get a better response in this thread.

Anyway I've decided I'll be getting another HP ProLiant at some point so it's all decided now. No need to discuss this anymore. :)

I have one of these, but it was a bitch to find. All the stores that list it show it as out of stock and discontinued but I found one on the fleabay.

Now that i have it installed, the temps of the two drives seem a little high. Looks like they may go above 40 degrees. What speed is too warm for a hard disk?
