Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

Another couple of quick questions (sorry :p).

What is a good 2tb drive to go with this?
I'm going to be running WHS 2011 on it but it will basically just be a NAS. Do I need more than the 2gb RAM that comes with it?
I see people saying the PSU is quite noisy. The server will ideally be in my front room next to my sofa. Is it going to be annoyingly loud when watching TV? Is the PSU or fan replaceable?

I've just had my cashback claim rejected for not including the serial number.

The small print does say to include it where indicated on the claim form but there was no such section on my form. Guess I should have just scribbled it on somewhere!

They've asked me to send it by email so it looks promising :)

WD Red 2TB - Great disks, low noise. a lot of people will recommend these.

From my read some people find it more noisy than others. Mines sits behind my TV in my living room with the 250GB for OS and then 2x WD Red 2TB drives. I live in a very quiet area and when the house is completely silent I can just hear it and no more, it's not loud at all for me.

2GB for a NAS is plenty. Using mine as a HTPC running XBMC, uTorrent etc etc, 2GB coped fine.

I am planning taking OS drive images of my gaming PC, girlfriends laptop and then the host OS drives of my 2x microservers.

I have a license for Ghost Solution Suite, so I could install ghost console on both my microservers and have all machines report in to that and take disk images. Is there anyone doing this similar sort of thing and if so, what software are you using for bare metal backups? I think my solution will be good, but open to seeing idea's/opinions on what others are doing to trigger some new chains of thought with this. Tinkering about and trying things is fun :)

You may want to remove the name of that OCUK competitor before you get into trouble :)

Yeah, I did debate putting that one in or or to use one of the silly 'rainforest' charades terms but didn't really see them as direct competitors, they are mainly enterprise box shifters, different market i think.

I'm VAT registered so can write that off though :D

Thats another reason why I bought another one even though I dont really need one :(
Still ridiculously good value for money, with or without VAT. The only thing stopping me from ordering another one is I'd be embarrassed to show it to my wife. She'd be like "why?", and I'd be like "...but it's so cheap!". Not good.
