I did consider the Pi but given I have a few ipads and iphones at home the ATV's seemed like the better idea at the time, didn't realise that you couldn't XBMC the ATV3's as that was my reason for getting them so where I wanted to get rid of the SFFPC under the TV and replace it with an ATV and add one in the bedroom I'm still using the SFFPC in the livingroom as that has the grunt for the HD stuff where as the ATV just does SD on the TV in the bedroom.

What I need is a beefier CPU for transcoding for the ATV's, someone that wants to swap 2 near on brand new ATV3's for a pair of ATV2's that I can XBMC or someone to get XBMC working on the ATV3...

All fun and games...

I have 2x 3.5" behind the LCD so yes.

can you guys tell me what raid card your using to add 2 drives to top bay, I already have 1 on the extra sata port on board

the LCD mod is about £24 as I got one a few weeks ago lcdmod. just google it

Plug the second drive into the eSATA port on the outside using an eSATA-SATA adapter (you'll have to loop the cable through a suitable gap in the chassis somewhere)

It comes with a ODD type frame to fit it to a case but i decided to modify the original ODD cover.

Thought you had used the blanking plate, do you think the one supplied would fit without a problem?

I really don't want to mod my server, but I've lost the original blanking plate

You would have to mod the bracket that comes with the LCD or maybe use double sided tape.

I bought mine about 6 months ago for 173 each (got 2 units) and got the cheques for 200 in about 2 months. Bought it through cashback site, so that was another fiver off.

then found no use for the 2nd one, which was still in box so sold it on bay netting 150.

so in the end I got my one effectively for free. Beat that

the prices today seem to be much higher, especially if until now the cashback was only 50.
