Which HDD would be recommended for IP cameras? There is Western Digital Purple drives, however as this is to be used in this Microserver would a Red be most suited?

What are some alternatives to FreeNAS for a micro. Fallen out with FreeNAS recently and looking for a change.

Needs to be able to run plex, sab, couch & sick beard. Is windows server in with a shout?

Take a look at Unraid too. Runs everything you asked and more.

why bother with adapter? just put the SSD in.

just a heads up to make sure but i see there are some places doing the n54l with £30 cashback making this around £100 again. cant link to it but if you go searching you end up with server plus, warenty ;0)
between 1 & 30 september.

might pick me up another one of these.

with the Modded Bios i've seen a report stating that the drives are working. See:

the Bios may be limiting the capacity of the harddisks if not updated TBC.

also updatingthe Bios fix's an issue with the NIC and Windows 8.1

Whilst looking at some other forums i saw someone say they do work, but only with the modded bios being used and also only work in the 4 bays of the microserver and not with the sata controler that they had but in the PCIE slot. il link it when i can find it again.

Also just orderd one of these.
