Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

Just file storage, Plex server and maybe RDP/Teamviewer to it for docs and stuff. I'd like to be able to push stuff to a tablet too.

I use 8GB RAM for the following in an ESX:

1 x Windows 2003 (Domain Controller) - 512MB RAM
1 x Windows 2008 R2 (RD Gateway) - 1GB RAM
1 x Windows 7 (Use this as a remote desktop / VDI) - 2GB RAM
1 x Arch Linux (Plex Media Server / Mumble server aka Murmur / Apache) -1GB RAM

I have other VM's but they are turned off and then on when needed.

I see the N54L is still available for £129 on PixMania. Worth a punt still? Their reviews don't seem great but I can't find it anywhere else for a decent price.

Made the mistake of buying from them once. I bought some hard drives and they sent the smaller size - wouldn't accept they'd sent the wrong ones and refused to accept them back. Had to threaten them with credit card company before they agreed to retrieve and refund.

HDMI is irrelevant. It's down to the OS and the plugins the web browser interface uses.

If the mythical no-information CCTV browser supports something via the not-specified OS can accelerate on an AMD card then yep. Otherwise ...

Synologys own built in cctv system. Just viewing it via synologys interface

Mine has arrived. :) Just need to wait for my graphics card, extra RAM and memory stick to arrive and to decide if I want to ESXi or not.

Hey folks, I have a 40L and am looking to install a ssd into the 5.25" bay and was wondering what I need to do it? Obv a bay converter but do I also need to update bios? What cables are needed? Any help would be great!
