I didnt break any clip seals on the seagate unit either. Just used 2 really small flat screw driver heads.
Popped the base cover off the Seagate unit easy, there are no seals etc that break, and as long as your careful it doesn't cause any damage/marks, so when I put the cover back on you cannot tell it's been removed.
