Good documentary films?

Off the top of my head i recommend watching all the adam curtis documentaries. They aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they are excellently put together and usually Curtis gets all the interviews from the subjects involved which adds credence to his theories. They are historical and political. Also Nick Broomfield's again a lot of people find them annoying, but if you accept that the journey is more important than the outcome they are very entertaining.

In the Shadow of the Moon.

Interview footage and images of the moon landings and apollo program.

No narration, only people who talk are the astronauts. Its strange and made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck because these people look like your grandad and talk about it all in such a matter of fact way.
Was made back in 2007 an exgirlfreind bought it for me on Bluray and I still watch it now and then.

This is extremely good as well, recommended viewing for anyone. My GF wasn't interested in anything to do with space but it sort of changed her mind after I got her to watch this.

Not sure if its been mentioned but ANVIL was awesome!

Good documentary, you don't have to like metal to enjoy this, it's just a great life story.

Touching the Void. 2 rock climbers attempt to climb a previously unconquered peak in the Peruvian Andes, amazing and terrifying events unfold. You'll be glued to this one.

There was a channel 4 series by the makers of this covering similar tales may be on the youtube channel if you're interested.

Dogtown and Z-boys - About the invention and transition of modern day skateboaring, even if you dont like skateboarding its still good.

Also if you liked that then 'Riding Giants' is about surfing which is by the same director and is work a watch.
