Good documentary films?

Just watched Dust to Glory and Countdown to Zero after the recommendations from here. Dust to Glory was amazing and made me want to do the Baha 1000 as part of my bucket list. Countdown to Zero was OK but the constant shots of people in New York (trying to scare you into imagining a nuke going off there) was a bit much for me. Show it once or twice so we get the idea, not every 3 minutes! Other than that it quite thought provoking.

Mistake in earlier post. "American - The Bill Hicks Story" is on Channel 4 this Saturday at 10pm, followed by his Revelations gig.

Now that's twice I've went to Sky+ that and both times you've been off. C4 are repeating the Sex and the City movie this Saturday night

The new Morgan Spurlock documentary The Greatest Movie Ever Sold looks great.

He tries to finance a documentary about product placement, paid for entirely with product placement...

I watched Street Fight on Current TV last night and it was absolutely brilliant. One of the best political documentaries I've ever seen. It was like a real-life version of S3 of The Wire.

As much as I like Spurlock, apparently this documentary isn't very good from what I read.

Restrepo, Man on Wire, Cocaine Cowboys - all already mentioned, they aren't recent but are worth a watch.

It's not a film but a series: World at War. A very detailed account of events that made up the second world war.

"Flight 666"

Follows Iron Maiden around on a world tour in their customised 747. Great film for especially for a music fan, even if you don't like the band.

The majority of the ESPN 30 for 30 run of documentrys were very good if you're interested in any sports stuff.

Graffiti wars - was on c4 recently and was excellent
Knuckle - Irish gypsy bare knuckle fighting
Freedom downtime - not new but great doc about Kevin mitnick
The freshest kids - breakdancing
Scratch - hip hop
