Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

I have never had a problem with citylink, perhaps I live in a good area (suffolk), and I order a lot of stuff. My current address means all packages are delivered before 9;30 (15+ parcels here so far!).

Well that takes me from an almost certain next day delivery service that I have never had a single problem with, to an inconsistant service apparently incapable of delivering to the Highlands next day, as somehow we're not "mainland" (though last time I checked, we were fairly well attached to the rest of this bloomin' country).

Ah well, nevermind.

I've always had my goods on time however 3 out of ten orders had to be returned due to being knocked about or Damaged,I don't blame them entirely as they may of been damaged at the other end, they were all big parcels and could have been eliminated if they were packed a little better for shipping

They (DHL) were two days late with my most recent order. And my tracking details didn't work on their website.

Hmmm.

i've never had a prob with citylink on anything. might have to buy something to test out DHL....hhmmmmm what to buy!

Great news Spie - its always would me up that couriers only tend to deliver during the day, when most people are at work, earning the money to afford to buy the things being delivered! Deliveries of upto 9pm, and the ability to phone the driver is excellent. Good decision!

Hummmmm ... DHL !! or as our work calls em " Drop it Hide it Lose it " .. DHL can be just as bad ...

tbh it`s not the companys it`s the bloody drivers , weather thay can bothered or not ;) to go that extra inch or not .. an some case that extra couple of feet to the door from the van ;)

Hoo-bloody-ray. About time too. City Link has to be the worst courier in the country. I had an order from here last week. Placed on the Monday for next day delivery. OCUK had the order complete by 10.30am. Had a look at the tracking info at 20.00 and it was en-route to the delivery branch. Checked the next morning and it still had'nt arrived there. Checked again at dinner time and still not go there. Checked at 16.00 only to find it had arrived at the delivery branch at 15.45, loaded onto a van for dlivery at 15.45, removed from the van at 15.45 and was given the status of failed delivery attempt. Pathetic!! Finally got it at 17.30 the next day.

This week i placed an order for next day delivery with a different retailer on Monday morning who also got the package away before 10.30 am. Checked it at 20.00 Monday night and was en-route to the delivery branch. However, it never arrived there and was given several promises over the next couple of days about delivery, none of which happened. I finally got it yesterday at 16.00. What pathetic service and their customer support is abysmal.

The other retailers need to get rid of them now.

Citylink seem to be incapable of ringing my door bell, or even knocking! They just stick a 'Sorry you were out" card through.

DHL is good news:)

Ooooh, hark at you with your lardy-da card. I used to dream of getting a card through the door. :p :D

Seriously though, good move OcUK. Just hope DHL around my way are decent as the local CityLink are a nightmare. Getting stuff to work was ok, though could go awol for a while internally but getting stuff at home, especially on a Saturday was a pain sometimes.

/goes to check how far his local DHL pick up place is. :p

Good news indeed. :)

I've not had much luck with City Link (one driver even claimed to have delivered to a local chip shop as I wasn't in even though I was) so I'm glad OcUK have switched to DHL.

City Link have been 100% spot-on for me. Also have used DHL in the past, never a problem either.

woo hoo no more ninja city link drivers that sneak up to my door and put a ''we called but you were out'' card without knocking, even though I'm sat looking at him through the door
