Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

well surprise first delivery off dhl pooh!
driver said he left card which he didn't ( so much for phoning his mobile )
phoned ocuk and the lady said they are having loads off problems
phoned dhl and it turns out its a contractor not a dhl driver .
ocuk you have made a big mistake me thinks :eek:
 
as an update it has took me over thirty minutes on the phone after being given number after number just to find out whats happened to it .
please bring back citylink !
 
I have never had a problem with city link, however my girlfriend swears blind that dhl are very bad always losing parcels etc. So I hope Overclockers did not make a mistake to switch to DHL. I also understand others have had a bad time with citylink so who knows what surprises we are all in for. :eek:
 
Well at the end of the day if DHL do turn out to be worse then I'm sure OcUK will change back, No doubt they are monitoring any delivery problems that are brought to their attention and comparing them with the stats from City Link, the problem you have is that with any delivery company your always going to have problems, it's a case of finding the one the gives you the least problems though, personally I've never had any issues with City Link but then I may never have any issues with DHL either, I'll have to wait and see.

Just had DHL deliver my order (despatched yesterday). From my POV the switch to DHL is great, as they are the only courier authorised to come onto base. They also deliver to supply (where I work) every day anyway so even if I'm not there someone will be available to sign for goods as we work 24 hours.

Obviously not everyone will be so lucky, but I've creamed in with this.
 
2 in 3 times with city link they would always pretend to have carded me. So even if it is 1 in 3 with DHL thats an improvement in my book :D
 
DHL or City Link don't care to me, so long as OcUK send me my order. Took a day off work today to get my 8 GIG of memory delivered to me which I booked for today, they didn't send it to me ? It will be sent tomorrow along with the VelociRaptor which I ordered today.

this is not good move for me, in my experience dhl is worse than the royal mail, ocuk way to go you have managed to have 2 delivery options and picked the worse two delivery companys available (note dhl are good so long as u have delivered to a biz address but they crap fro residential)

Twice I have had to collect the parcel in Enfield, and what's worse is that you can't get a direct line to their distribution centre to rearrange collection! UGH!

and yep have done same to me several times last time i sat looking out my window watching the entrance to the road i live on, and they never leave cards when they claim to have been but got no answer, once i was on the phone to them at the time chasing up the delivery when it apeared on their website that they couldnt get entry, i went nuts. its quicker to collect items from their depot yourself
 
I have to say, CL have been 100% reliable but I guess they have a depot near here. Just had first delivery from DHL and it arrived on time. Hope its a case of 'start as you mean to go on'!
 
Bummer, I guess the courier part of it isn't true, at least here in Aberdeen. I got a regular DHL missed delivery card - no mobile number. I rearranged delivery for tomorrow, hopefully I can convince someone to be in the house.
 
Have to say, I love DHL normally, so its a good move, but I have now been waiting a week on my gfx card from OCUK, and having paid 14 quid for delivery, even though n.i is part of the uk, its a bit annoying. Being patient!
 
I figure that difficulties are to be expected, it's a pretty big and sudden switch. I think that the news post on the main page should be changed to state that courier delivery isn't guaranteed in some places, though, since I was relying on being able to get my lovely Aego M 2.1s today*.

*I would've preferred yesterday, since I ordered them on tuesday, but I can live with that.
