Goodbye Crysis.

To the EA bashers who claim everyone hates them; I'm sure that is the message they get when they cash in the billions of $'s in sales every year.
If revenue defines how good a company is then I suppose AOL is the best ISP too?

Use some common sense please, everybody who pays attention knows that EA game support is poor and half-arsed.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Why can't EA just leave everyone alone. Its not like they don't make enough money with their hojillion different sports titles every year, why run other people's games into the ground too?

Really don't see the problem specifically with them taking over the Crysis game personally, as now it must be pretty close to finishing development wise, EA more than likely will love to have the engine more than anything, being able to sell it off to other games makers, but we shall have to wait and see I guess with regards to how buggy or good Crysis is.

My take:
EA is able to hand over large amounts of money to these people (game companies) & this immediate influx of large sums of money, would be hard to give up. And these people often think, great now we can cash in on the hard times we had before. They have made it & they may think, they dont need to work so hard on the games they produce, because whether its awesome or just ok, they have allready been paid (bought out). Hence we see less impressive games once larger corporations buy out the smaller battlers.

Crysis will be nice on launch, but so was BF2. Problems with BF2 started to get severe when patches started to be issued. :(

It's pathetic and ridiculous that a video games developer can license cars/football players etc.

Absolutely pathetic.

Indeed.

Look at any young teenager's "PS2 games" shelf and you'll find: Fifa 2000, Fifa 2001, Fifa 2002, Fifa 2003, Fifa 2004, Fifa 2005, Fifa 2006, Fifa World Cup Special etc

Don't forget that only a small proportion of PC gamers actually sign up on forums. Most of the people on here are hardcore gamers who demand the best, but there are billions of families who buy PC games.

I think its got more to do with EA saying "we want the game out at this time no matter what state it is in", rather than devloper not haveing any pride in what they are making.

I understand why publishers do this (look at duke nuken forever) but i still think they should be aloud a little room in which to finish off games.

I reckon they'll just have some sort of distribution and advertising deal, everyone knows EA advertise more than any other company so will get the name of the game out there, also don't forget that EA distribute everything that Valve produces except for the stuff on Steam.

I've no love for EA, but the ISI developed F1xxx series seemed to come out as ISI intended. They admittedly had that EA look, but the underlying sims were pretty good.

sorry i dont agree there',from launch it was pretty bad i mean giving someone repeated 3 round bursts with something like the saw was pretty pointless unless they were 10 feet away being one example.
the whole memory leak issue and general laaaaaag just pointed out how unfinished the game was, yes it did get worse as they patched it but lets face it , the game is a dog now and unless they perform a miracle with 1.4 it will just roll over and die as ea move on to 2142 or what ever its called, yeah i know ea are in it for the money but you would expect a little bit of effort would have been given to customer satisfaction, with this sort of track record no wonder people are worried about what they will do to crysis

most would probably disagree with me immediately but, i think 1942 was far better a game than BF2.

The original was far more fun! :)

i have no problem with ea

they provide options for people to purchase there latest or greatest or dont

got plenty of ea games myself i wouldnt be so pathetic to deliberately avoid there games.

a game is a game, and intelligent people will decide if its a game they would like to buy based on type of game and reviews and anything else thats important to them.

on saying that fifa is a bit poor and bland, dont really get on with pro evo so no fanboy , but i do like them tiger woods games and battlefield games oh and the mrs likes the sims.

i can honestly say ive never really been disapointed in any of there games / there level of customer service or anything else to do with them

i must be a mindless casual gamers brainwashed by graphics and brand names or perhaps its just a game i like by any old company (ea ive heard release a high percentage of games)

Well just remember that EA make games as well as publish games make by other devloper's.

That might count for some of the good ones :p

on a side note i dont think the FIFA series is bad at all

say what you want about them churning out the same crud every year, but its good enough imo

i love FIFA, (AND PES) tiger woods, need for speed, madden, NBA, and the other sports games that they do

i enjoyed bf2,although a little buggy
medal of honour, was good n all

i think that its cool to hate EA, just as its cool to hate apple ipods (Note i dont like them but for different reasons)

the problem is now is that if crysis doesnt live up to expectations, which it wont, you will all blame it on EA

im not saying they are the best company in the world, but they do good business and you cant diss a company for being sucessful

Don't forget Crysis were in a lot of hot water not so long ago what with getting busted for using unlicensed software etc, so getting the financial muscle of EA behind them may be just what they need.

Personally I don't have a problem with EA myself, they have released countless brilliant titles over the years.
