A separate process for each tab seems excessive. Perhaps I don't use enough hip new sites, but I very rarely, if ever, have one tab tanking and taking down the entire browser.

Think about full-screen web applications, such as games, or videos.
If the plugin crashes, you can close the tab, and not lose and functionality in the browser

I'm pretty sure that if you start typing in the 'Omnibox', it will bring up a link to a Google Search (the same way IE, Firefox, and possibly Opera does)
