Was going to go with a Note 4 but I wasn't bowled over by the back design, don't like Touchwiz or the extra crap Samsung stick on their phones. Loved the size of my Note 2 but never used the S Pen. Nexus it is then :D

Still waiting for it to be delivered :(

It's surprising how many times in the last two weeks I've wanted jot something down and the S Pen and pop up notepad would have been ideal.

Also, the camera app is much better than standard Android, I do occasionally use some of the features (like slo-mo for example)

On the flip side, Lollipop is gorgeous and so fluid. I also put more weight on speakers than most, as I tend to listen to 30 minutes or more of podcasts each morning. I actually like the extra 0.3" of screen too...

In the past I often go with the safer choice, which would be the Note 4. There wont be times missing the 0.3" will stop me doing something, or the nice loud speakers, or the slick and pretty lollipop... but there will be times I want to make a quick note and can't or film a slo-mo bit of action and I can't (granted, the slo-mo is very seldom used/needed)

But then, the Nexus 6 is just soooo nice...

I tend to only keep devices from different categories so to speak.

Moto G 2013 (still best budget phone to me)
Nexus 5 (best 'small' phone)

I just sold my OnePlus One, but might pick one up again next year as best mid range phone.

The Note or Nexus would take the slot of best large phone. Not really any point in keeping both.

I was going to keep my n5 as a backup but different sim sizes mean its not straight fwd. Just will have to be careful.

I still have a galaxy nexus and nexus one somewhere.

must admit id hard pushed to decide between Note 4 and Nexus 6

Nexus 6 has unlock bootloader and flashing roms without causing too much hassle with warranty

I've had both and personally I much preferred the Nexus 6. The SD card and removable battery on the Note were great features but the speakers, size, pure Android and other things made the Nexus better IMO :)

Not as simple as that. Note 4 has sd slot, better screen (colour and efficiency) and better camera. All that on top of the s-pen.

Nexus 6 has the stereo FF speakers and stock android in its favour.

Horses for courses - both are great handsets.

True. But the screen isn't that bad and plus have a relative who has the Note 4 and the camera on both is pretty impressive.

The SD slot, perhaps I'm not too fussed with as I use a Sony Z3 Tablet Compact for the bigger stuff like videos, the battery is sufficient for what I do on the phone. :D

... However I do actually think aesthetics - the Note 4 is better looking.

Stoosh has gone to rehab, maybe you should join him? :p

I've just got a Note 4 and a Nexus 7, I'm getting worse...

They'll never take me alive :D

Just bought the linx 10 tablet for my browsing needs, so not sure if I should get another Nexus 6 (in 64GB this time?) or get an HTC One M8 as I wont fully need a bigger screen for browsing etc?

If O2 haven't changed their prices you can get it for £409 on one of their contracts, cancel the airtime plan and pay off the device plan.

Saw this deal but think it's now £429.99 when payed off

Tbh I'm not into buying contracts and paying off. Rather buy sim free. I've seen some pretty bad reports about o2 refresh and still taking payments after cancellation and potentially ruining credit record

Its is £429, thats the price I just paid. If you want the cheapest then 02 refresh plans are the one. Other places are charging £499. Once I get my device after the new year I'll pay off the refresh plan and then let you guys know how it goes.

What plan option did you choose to get it for £429 after paying off the airtime all i can see is device plan working out at £20 a month after airtime.
