Finally got my Nexus 6, oh how I've missed you old friend :D

Loving the big screen again and 6.0 feels smoother than 5.x.x ever did, feels good to be back, especially considering the price

My mate runs cataclysm and is happy.

I'm like a few other on here that have just rooted and have Xposed, gravity box and layers.

Have you tried layers? It's a great theming tool. I posted up some screen shots of mine in the app thread a few weeks ago.

Not tried layers, but sounds cool.

Do you notice any performance issues with the bits you've mentioned?

Stock MM is running like a dream at the moment :) (apart from the error mentioned above)

No performance issues no. I rooted via the elemental kernel method. And use the franco kernel app for a few tweaks.

I still have another nexus 6 as my daily on 5.1 and you I can tell the difference in how much smoother Marshmallow is. It's nigh on perfect.

Also with layers you can mix and match themes for different parts of the UI. Im running 3 different themes.

I didn't turn off encryption no. I think it runs fine as is. Does it wipe the device again to disable encryption? I would like to see if it makes a difference.

IIRC it does wipe your phone, and it made a nice difference on LP, so maybe it will a little on MM as well?

I'm wondering if a manual upgrade to 6.0.1 would resolve my error problem?

The 6.0.1 on the Nexus download website, is that the correct one for the UK N6, as there are multiple 5.x.x but only one for 6.0.1?

Interesting timing. I made this last night, edited and uploaded tonight -

Was just about to make a new thread for discussion.

**EDIT** New thread if we'd prefer to keep all related discussion of it in one place?

I may just wait for you to try out the de-cryption :p

Yes that 6.01 is the correct one. There are a few 6.0.0's because there were a few updates (security).

My phone without encryption opens apps notably faster than a 6p with encryption.

You probably wouldn't notice it unless it was side by side though.

When I first got my N6 I did quite a few Androbench tests (storage) against encrypted and non-encrypted flashes, the difference was quite significant in most areas, especially the read speeds on the SQLite stuff. I'll try dig out some of the screenshots from imgur
