My phone without encryption opens apps notably faster than a 6p with encryption.

You probably wouldn't notice it unless it was side by side though.

You understand, in the video above, it is done side by side and there is no difference.

I accept though that it might just be the Note 5 being blazing fast... (or has hardware specifically for encryption) but for me, there is no different encrypted or not.

I'm not too concerned about how the Note 5 handles it. I did it personally side by side yesterday, stock 6p and unecrypted n6.

There isn't a reason why the 6p should be slower, but camera app, chrome etc started up notably slower.

In isolation and without a side by side, you wouldn't notice.

That's fine, you're happy.

I'm personally not too concerned how a N6 compares to a 6P, as I say, I've done side by side of the same device, set up the same, and as can be seen it makes no difference.

It's certainly more relevant in the N6 thread than comparing the two Notes.

The Note 5 must be better at utilising encryption.

Since updating to MM my WiFi turns off after a while of no usage and my mobile data is getting hammered. This is happening overnight at home with active WiFi.

Any ideas?

to state the obvious - have you checked your wifi sleep settings on the phone under advanced?

How is the Nexus 6 performing a year after release?

Personally, the N6 is better now than it was when released a year ago, very happy with mine (except the physical fault that's currently being sorted out), and especially now the price is a lot cheaper, IMO is the best phone by far in this price range :)

Had my N6 a year now. Have to say Wifi and 3G signal issues are getting annoying now, even after a new mainboard under warranty. I'm now also finding it too big, especially now I use it less than I used to. I will be replacing it in a few months I think. Kinda bored of it! It's a great phone though really, battery life is amazing, I get 48 hours out of it every time now near enough.

My N5 did it after updating to M and my N6 does it too. Not every time, but I do see it without WiFi when picking it up sometimes.

Doesn't seem to be hurting my data use, so no idea how long it's actually off for. Might be a Doze thing.
