Judging by the US they put a temporary hold on your card to make sure you have the money available, usually lifted by your bank within a few days. Card is then charged upon dispatch.

I spoke to Google CS via their online chat today, she reckoned pre-orders go live from 10am, but she couldn't 100% confirm though? Make of that what you will?

Also, I'm not sure whether to keep to my original idea of getting the blue, or go for the white? TechnoBuffalo's YT video mentions that the blue back gets very dirty and is almost impossible to clean up again?
