Not for me. The charge I currently use is a 65w fast charger that came with my OPPO. When I sell my phone the charger will go with it. Meaning I'll have to buy one if I get a Pixel. That actually creates more carbon emissions as it will require 2 separate deliveries to my house.

Sucks to be you, but for the relatively few people who probably need a charger it's not really worth shipping a charger to everyone. Plus the carbon emissions to ship 2 separate deliveries to your house will be a tiny amount of carbon in comparison to manufacturing and shipping charges to everyone.

I wish people would look beyond their own self-interest for a change.

I thought Pixel phones used the USBPD standard?

Google themselves have been trying to push OEMs to use USB-PD to try standardise things for a good few years now so I don't see any reason for them to create their own standard. And PD can scale all the way up to 100W, so there's always room for future devices to have faster charging.

Apple use the USB PD charging standard too...

Any USB PD standards compliant USBC charger will charge an iPhone at max speed.

i guess this is based on the fast charging over qi that google require only their fast charger be used.

Google usually release in October, and I’m not aware of any leaks suggesting it will be otherwise for the Pixel 6.

It's likely to be the Pixel 6 Pro or the S21 Ultra for my next phone, so I hope the Pixel announcement is soon rather than into October.
