Google Pixel 6/6 Pro

evening all

Was just sat watching tv with Pixel 6 on charge and tried to bring it up out of standby and its is completely dead, wont start, do a hard reset, anything........

Anyone know of a dark magic to make it snap out of it? been faultless since release day and this is sadly out of the blue

Cheers

Ben
Have you tried recovery mode (volume down and power button simultaneously) You may have meant that with "hard reset"

I've had similar, but generally when I pull it out my pocket in bright sunlight and try to fingerprint unlock it.

What works for me is hold down the power button for a few secs, get a little haptic vibrate
Then touch the screen where the reboot button should be

Phone reboots OK.
I'd be replacing this phone round about now because of this, but my wife's p5A battery went into marshmallow mode 9 months after I had it replaced at iSmash (grrrr) so got her a 7a instead. Will need to wait a few months!

i ended up just going for a Pixel 8. I still haven't had any success on the 6 and think its a lost cause tbh, shame really :(
I traded the p6 pro in on a pixel 8a - decided I don't need a flagship any more.
Trade in value came back as 0 - "casing broken and major damage to LCD". Didn't even know about that, but it would explain the problems I was having perhaps...? Waiting for the p6 to be sent back to me - interested to see what this "major damage" looks like.

Some phones will lose the ability to toggle 5G, my 6a included. Let's hope they patch this asap.

Well in all the years I had this phone I had to check for updates to get it to update. I have given it my daughter and she said "What's this mean dad?" It was asking to restart to apply the update. :D :p

My 6 is soldiering on. Wife upgraded the other day so I took a look at latest pixels, but not fussed about changing really. Battery still healthy and the phone does everything I need from it. Long live my £12.34/month SIM only contract.

Updated to 15 on my 6 Pro. Noticed YouTube was lagging, checked the network activity (with Wifiman) and I'm getting massive spikes of packet loss. It's affecting the whole phone not just the YT app. Wife is unaffected on her 6 still running Android 14.

Anyone else had similar issues or read of anything?

Ooooh didn't know 15 was out - will give it a blast, hopefully it doesn't nuke YouTube Revanced!

Still don't feel the need to upgrade, I've never really been one to lust after phones, certainly not at today's daft prices. My less than 300 quid Pixel 6 was the steal of 2020 (even if Vodafone did have to replace it), and it still does everything I need.
