Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

Based on the impending risky purchase and delivery I was looking to take advantage of wireless charging for the first time in my phone ownership history yet I quickly learned that to get the advertised wireless charging speeds it appears you need a pixel wireless charger, which for some reason is no longer available because it doesn't charge the Fold, one phone out of the whole range! Seems crackers and I'm sure this has already been discussed but is there a go to alternative please?

I just charge it over night on a wireless charger, no rush.

Very rarely need to charge in the day but if I do I just plug into a wired charger which is quicker then any wireless charger , I wouldn't be buying a proprietor wireless charger personally

I think I'll do the same then the charging speed doesn't matter like you say

Anything specific to look out for when buying, I usually prefer Anker for this type of thing or will any charging pad/stand be fine?

I bought the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (thanks @kona786 for the deal heads-up in the images of items I have purchased thread).

On the subject of cases and charging stands, does anyone have any experience or opinion on using the following combination? I'll preface this by saying I know the P9 series isn't Qi2 compatible, but I was thinking the magnetic case would make it easier to plonk the phone onto the charger and not worry about getting alignment?

Case:
Perhaps I only use the rear part of the case? I don't know how I feel about the front part being an all in one front case and screen protector in one. Plus casing foldables adds bulk

Charging stand:

I want to get a pixel 9/pro (undecided yet on pro) and can see there is a trade in but my Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G isn't on the pull down menu. Any idea how I can get a trade in price?
You'd have to go through a normal phone recycling place. If it's not on the list Google aren't interested.

Pixel 9 pro and fold owners remember to get your years free AI PREMIUM subscription. That includes the 2TB plan perks too.

The fold deal keeps getting even more Juicy...

Back from my holiday in Hong Kong and China, and the Fold held up better than expected. Only limited to 4G due to Pixels having limited 5G availability in certain countries, but the modem did much better holding a signal compared to my previous 6 Pro. This helped with the battery life as well, easily lasting the entire day before I need to charge.

I know it probably has the worst set of cameras compared to the rest of the 9 series, but it still did really well. Here's an example shot:

Using the back cameras for selfies with the rear screen + palm timer to help is also a huge step up when taking group photos. Best take is probably the most useful feature I used especially with large group photos, had the occasional closed eyes/looking at wrong phone/etc. happen every now and then.

How's everyone finding the GPS performance by the way? It still works reasonably well but it feels worse than the 6 Pro. Outdoors is mostly fine, indoors I seem to drift more often. When I was in mainland China it took ages to get a lock on but wasn't sure that's due to Google services being more restricted over there.

Vaguely related as they're being given away with the phones but after I returned my fold I ended up grabbing some Pixel pro 2 buds from the bay, first thing the guy I ordered from is somehow drop shipping directly from EE but for £150 a pair so brand new delivered with an EE order number direct for £70 off...witch craft.

Anyway the actual buds themselves are great I've tried quite a few in ear wireless buds in the past but they've always been far too big and bulky to feel comfortable or stay in my ear and they've also been terrible when on Teams calls.
These you hardly feel they're there, connected to my Pixel 8 Pro plus my work laptop they seamlessly switch between music and calls without also pausing music for every bong Windows makes and people on the calls have noticed zero difference in quality between these and my supplied Jabra headset.

Sound quality for music is good, noise cancellation is good, transparency mode is generally good although it can magnify some sounds like my laptop fan spinning up far too much in comparison to other sounds so in that case it just sounds like there's static in the background.

From what I've seen a lot of the reviews say they're great but at RRP far too close in price to the next step up, if you get them bundled or pick up a cheap pair they're definitely the best ones I've found.

Happy days - Pixel 7 pro trade-in was successful and got £540 for that. Sold the buds 2 pro for £130 quid.

I picked up a 9 pro XL 256 GB + Charger + case - total damage = £592.

I was slightly bricking it as there were some oil like stains on the 7 pro screen and thought it would fail the test.

Yay consumerism!

Looking forward to the second gen buds... I have the first gen and have been thoroughly impressed with them for the last two years almost

So the journey is over fold went back, found a good upgrade deal on the pro XL.

By the time I get my trade in and flog the buds for £100 it'll cost me about £9 a month for the actual phone. Added benefit of saving my £7.99 a month on my Google plan for 12 months.

Just a shame they don't use the same matte finish on the back and surround on the pro as they do on the fold.
