Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

My Pixel 9 pro wouldn't wake earlier, just a black screen. Got the restart/shutdown screen up eventually and decided to shutdown, then it just got stuck on that and wouldn't do anything. Finally managed to shut it down with the power / volume up button but took a few minutes to kick in.

Has booted back up fine, so hopefully just a glitch.

I hate setting up new phone's.
Gotta get used to the power button and volume being the wrong way. And it's a little smaller , and thicker than my current phone.

How are people finding the accuracy of the GPS on the 9 pro? I've seen quite a few posts on reddit and other sites* that suggest that it is really bad and as I use my phone for tracking hikes it is a really important feature for me, as in the winter months getting the map and compass out is a bit of a faff if the reading on the phone isn't particularly accurate

Ok I'm trying the gesture's rather than the 3 buttons.

In the testing I can do the one to select the open apps. But in reality I just either open the app drawer or Google assistant.

Arrrgghh

Figured it out, I was doing it to fast.

I've found it can be slower to get a precise lock than my old pixel7 pro but once it's locked it's accurate.

It's pretty much nearly useless when I'm indoors. Using Google's own GnssLogger app shows it struggles to get a proper location, while my previous 6 Pro sitting next to it works fine. Outdoors, whether walking or driving, it has been working fine for me, a little slower to lock in and does sometimes drift a bit more compared to the 6 Pro, but so far not had any issues.

I haven't needed the GPS yet, but just checked while sat at my desk @work and it's terrible.
I'm not really sure what I'm looking at in GnssLogger, but the map initially showed me a couple of streets away, then the marker jumped closer to my actual position, but then keeps moving around a LOT.
Just checked Google Maps and it's the same, the marker started a short distance away then moved closer and now keeps moving around.
GPS Test shows 23 in view, 20 in use with accuracy between 0 and 4m *shrugs*

I hope it's fixable with an update

Thank you both for your responses, looks like what I had read elsewhere has some element of truth to it and I'll remove the Pixel 9 pro from my list of potential phone purchases

I wonder if it's just a software bug, the accuracy using GPS Test from the play store seems better than my old s21u when compared side by side.

Weirdly when using android auto the GPS is 100% rock solid - assuming it is still using the phone for location rather than the cars GPS that is...
