Google Pixel 9 Series (9/9 Pro/9 Pro XL/9 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 3)

Im surprised the trade-in remained the enhanced rates + 20% off promo. Usually its one or the other.

Tempted to trade in my 8 Pro for a 9 Pro, £321.20 after discounts.

Anyone got a spare 25% off code to share? I sadly dont have access to such perks.

They had something similar just before Black Friday - enhanced trade-in plus a discount .... this expired just before the BF orders kicked in leading to lots of complaints that BF prices were significantly higher than a week earlier for anyone wanting to trade in. Think the discount then was 15% rather than 20% as trading in my 6a for a 9 now gets £160 discount plus £296 trade in for a final total of £343 whereas the pre BF offer was more like £380.

Few days using the 9 and just feels like a quicker 6, which is no bad thing - i'm mid 40's and like consistency these days :D

I'm sure it's got loads of new stuff and i'll have a proper sit down and tinker over the weekend to see what will be genuinely useful to me.

Just a quick update..

Had confirmation that the £395 quoted for my Pixel 7 trade in has been accepted. I will recieve my refund in the next few days.
Happy with that.

Really happy with the P9 Pro, Although part of me wishes I had gone bigger.
I ruled it out as I was used to the size.

Nice one. Just checked my £258.00 Pixel2XL trade in and it's been accepted too :)

Highly tempted by the 9 Pro XL going from a Xiaomi 12T so it'd be a decent upgrade and with some nice trips abroad this year I could do with a better phone camera!

Might wait until the summer though to see if they drop the price or maybe something else interesting will come up.

Is 256gb on these phones the sweet spot realistically? I've got that on my 12T currently and wondering if the 512gb model would be worth it or not??

Sweetpot for what and who.
If you need the space then you get the 512GB.

For me it's 512 minimum. Preferably 1TB.

Reminds me that I got an email today saying my £125 rebate for the trade-in Pixel Watch 2 has been approved. Woo hoo! :D

The Pixel Watch 3 is brilliant. Charge lasts longer and doesn't need to be charged every day and the bigger display really pays off.

After a 25% code if anyone has one. My Pixel 8 Pro is decent but the battery life kind of sucks and I know the 9 improves on all of that.

True I'd love 1tb but can't justify the cost although you can still get the 512gb model for a shade over £1119 without any trade in etc which is tempting but I'll wait for more offers methinks... It's certainly a phone I like the look of!

Yup. Deffo don't get Pixel without a fat discount. Given we're 4 plus months after launch, I'd want a 512 for 800 or under. And less with trade in.

That is a smashing trade in value. I thought £334 for my P7 was good (considering it's only worth about £175!)

how are people finding the size of the 9Pro XL, I tempted for the screen real estate, but I am guessing the 9Pro with it's 6.3" screen is going to be much less annoying when carrying it in your pocket.
6.8" screen on the XL looks huge

cheers

Can only speak for the Pro, but it's a perfect size for me. Very pocketable, easy to use one handed. XL would definitely be too large for me.

What are people using in terms of the resolution for their photos? 12MP or 50MP?

I switched over to 50MP last month and although in ideal scenarios (good light, little movement, good contrast) I can see more detail in the 50MP photos, in reality most of the pictures I take are not in ideal scenarios. I've noticed a lot of blurring/not focusing right/needing to hold the camera still for 2 seconds/ etc.

I've now switched to 12MP, so will pay closer attention over the next few weeks, but what is people's experience with these settings, and what do you use/prefer?
