Google Pixel Tablet

I have a Nest Hub Max, this tablet is basically that but detachable. I can completely see the appeal of it in that sense
Totally. I've wanted Apple to provide a Hub-esque experience for the iPad for years now. I know Amazon has provided such an experience with their tablets turning them into Echo Shows but it's great that Google has also seen that gap and giving it to people as well. Jury is obviously out on whether they'll stick with it however.

The play for Google here is to include the dock as part of the package. But I fear that the dock will be an additional purchase which would make it a tougher sell for people.

Price? Has to be on par with the regular 10.2” iPad imo so around the £300 mark.
I think it'll be targeting the iPad Pro market and at that point it would be a tough sell.

However if they do include the dock then that would help a lot.

fingers crossed as android need a tablet market space. Ipad has been clear king for years. all about the software for me and the support for the long haul

Everyone seems shocked at the price? Why?
I'll bite.
Because most Google home products are forever on sale prices.
I have 2 Google Nest hubs which cost £40 quid.. English money.
So for me this has to be cheaper to make any real sense.
Anyone who wants a high end tablet is going to buy an iPad because.... Reasons.
I'll buy one when it's 33% cheaper in a few months.

I wouldn't buy an iPad because I have absolutely nothing in the Apple ecosystem

The price will include the dock with a price of $129 being touted if you buy the dock seperately. So maybe if you buy the tablet separately and it comes in at a comparable price to a base level iPad then it might be ok.

I guess why people always give the iPad comparison is that you get a polished tablet with tremendous app support at a very reasonable price (until you go for an Air/Pro) whereas the Android side of things always seems to lack that polish.

I think if most people was to recommend a tablet to buy the iPad would be the one most would go for.

But I definitely think Google are on the right track with this-I can only speak for myself in that I’ve always wanted my iPad to double up as some of hub as opposed to it just sitting on a stand doing nothing. This definitely solves that.

We're not normal user people we are tech minded people. We know the difference.

It's like hoover and vacuum
iPad and tablet.
It's almost synonymous for 99%
