Google

1) Browse to Google like "http://www.google.co.uk".
2) Replace all that with "javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=1142683332:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.com")"
3) Hit return and 'OK' the box that pops up.
4) Search for anything.
5) Be annoyed.

Did that, looks the same?

It's fine as it is, thats why so many other search engines have copied the simplistic layout and design. I'm so used to using it, i'd rather it stayed as it is. Can't get it to work using what was in the link Augmented posted either :(

Oh no, mine's taken a turn for the worse

Normally Google will detect if you're in UK and automatically redirect you to Google.co.uk. If this is the case then to view the new tweaked layout go to google.com (it should redirect to google.co.uk) then paste then in the address bar & click OK on the popup box. Then search

javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=1142683332:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.co.uk")

Worked 100% for me, and looks good :)

--Edit--

It actually seems a lot faster for me aswell.

Surely there will be an option to change it and use it like it is now?

I mean theres the customisable home page so i dont see why they cant let people choose?

Yeah, maybe they'll allow you to use the 'Classic' style or whatever they want to call it.

Don't work for me.

Hopefully, i can't really see them forcing a change that could potentially loose 'customers' over something so simple anyway!

And the javascript wouldn't work for me either

What I hate is now when you search images, you have to use a drop down box to search sizes instead of a link (big, medium, large)...
This really gets to me :p

Lets clear this up -

1 - I go to www.google.co.uk or www.google.com
2 - I type in :
javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=11426833 32:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.co.uk")

and I should see the new one?

I can't get it to work either.

You paste that into the address bar, then hit enter. The first interface will look the same, do a search to see the main difference.

works for me

Just go to google.com or google .co.uk

and type in:
javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=11426833 32:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.com")

Make sure the bit in red matches the domain you went to, either .com or .co.uk

Then nothing will happen, do a search and you will see the new interface.

Its only a small bar down the left hand side, nothing special to be honest, cant really see it making much difference to how we use google.
