GordyR's Beginners Guide to Bodybuilding

Dude..... you make my head bleed :D

Stiff-legged deadlifts - google is your friend

Nothing wrong with isolations, when used correctly. Your routine is almost completely made up of isolations with hardly any compounds.... do you see?

Doing them 5x5 I'd say once a week with some lighter isolations thrown in for more volume of required.

Do you realize you ask questions that have been answered just a few posts ago? ;)

how can you guys still be replying to him lol just keeps asking the same questions over and over again, looking for that perfect diet and routine, that is just not gona happen

seriously SK07, make a plan, then STICK TO IT

then after a couple of months, assess the situation, and see where you need to change things to improve

its that SIMPLE!

So to recap SK07:

Compounds: These are the daddies. These WILL make you grow, these will make you bigger and these will make you stronger.

Isolation: ONLY if they are needed after the compounds. For bring up lagging parts or finishing off a workout.

Diet: Most important, you won't grow without it.

That's really it, simple as that.

Yeah but in doing all of these "compound" exercises what should my ideal muscle-building heart-rate be, and should I be doing anything to control my body temperature with one of those nike-vent tops for maximum muscle growth?

Well I'm off now, working away for the week so a week off training. My diet will be good, work provide me with a food allowance of £30 per day, so £150 for the week so it will be steak, chicken and whatever else I can get my hands on.

Train hard, and see you all in a week :)

indeed, im tall and fairly big, im obscenely weak on the bench compared to people smaller than me (barely push 90K) . But sometimes the idea that someone 6'2" after 4months can squat twice what i weigh.... it grates, especially when i have a micro analyzed diet that costs about £15 per day and i work out so hard that most partners start vomiting after only a few sets.

You know the feeling?

I never worry about what other people are lifting, n00bs and pro's alike... Someone brought a similar subject up on MP about wether we thought people lied about the poundages they lift in training journals. I never even thought about it before but how sad would that be if they did? :o
to some extent i do, i see people a lot smaller than me who are curling lot more than me. sometimes its weird like that!
EVERYONE curls more than me, even my gran! :D

6ft 3in ;).

tbh I don't mind if you don't belive me, after all im not out to impress. Hell you can believe that I squat 10kg and bench the bar :D.

lol i think it might just be!

Shall we get him some cake? Some creatine Steroid cake?

Awesome! M8 nike and muscle building go hand in hand. So much so their sore ring peices are testament to growth and development. You have made me smile.

No thanks I heard at the gym that creatine is a mild steroid and that if you mix it with actual steroids you get good results, but as soon as you stop using it all of the muscle turns to fat and you get cauliflower ear.

What?

:D

Started a "westside for skinny ********" program today because I think my intensity has dropped a bit. Its pretty good workout, I'm looking forward to see some results.
