GordyR's Beginners Guide to Bodybuilding

^Yes and everything seems to cause cancer and other related diseases now-a-days. If you bought everything they spat out you'd die from bull$hit overload.

Plain and simple is what works best usually. If that's how you like it then what's stopping you?

Thats the problem man I don't know, im just not sure im losing the weight and fat but there seems to be side affects, tiredness is the main one. I can't pinpoint the issues, also feeling very un-motivated beyond belief lately.

And your sure say 2 hours of cardio a week is sufficient for fat loss? but the problem is the diet, some of the diets I've seen are overly-complicated, I can't mash in 8 egg whites and cup of oats and all this. Plain and simple is how I like it.

i am starting to read about more people who are losing while doing HST. do it right and you burn hell of a lot of calories, combined with 2 hours of cardio and a simple calorie deficit diet and you will be fine :]

Indeedy. Do you think I've changed my diet one iota since reading that? ;)

Well Doctors say eating too many eggs in a week is bad for your cholestrol, buy it or not? doctors say a lot of things, but is it the person that counts rather than generality of a whole? for example saying 6 eggs is the limit for an average man leading the average lifestyle or should it be un-bias and display the difference it is for someone who is bodybuilding?

Okay well, is it okay if I ask you to help me design an HST program as im not very sure what im doing in all honesty.

Okay well what I posted above of the program wasn't actually what I was doing I just posted that for reference, however if you think im over-training maybe you could post something up which would give me more of an idea of what im looking at on this HST :).

Yes you can lose weight using HST, it's very demanding though to do on a calorie defecit, currently doing it myself.

Most, not all, are quacks and at best are a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none. They're also influenced by drug companies and money imho. Please can someone tell how eating cholesterol is bad for you?? The more you look into it and understand what's going on the more ridiculous it sounds ;)

Quoted for truth.
im sure CW has a link to his excellent thread on myprotien forums :]
Only excellent? :D haha. Kind words, though it's a bit of a bloated monster now @ 115 pages!

I'll link to the start of my latest cycle and new routine that's more aimed at burning calories and bodyfat. There are 2 workouts that are alternated every other day.

Bare in mind it's taken me a long time to build up the stamina to be able to use that kind of volume at that pace. As you can see from workout 1 it still exhausted me so much I threw up, even with such light weights.

Also I will say there are many ways of doing HST, mine is just a small example. The official HST site is a must read and has great forums too.

^Seems a lot, up to 80 reps on each set . Do you bother with cardio afterwards?

In all honesty I don't think I'd be able to reach 80 reps, I'd hit failure before that.

Where do you get 80 reps from? A superset during the 15's is 30 reps total but that isn't all on one muscle. Also the 15's only last 2 weeks, I've just finished those, then it's 10's for 2 weeks and then 5's for a month. After that I usually do 1-2 weeks of max lifts even going as low as singles. Strength is of no concern to me this cycle so will give that a miss this time and just do circuit training and maybe HIIT instead.

No cardio on training days, I do jog the mile to my gym and then crawl the mile home afterwards... I never do dedicated cardio, life's too short :) but I do play football. Routine is split:

Sunday - Indoor 5-a-side football (90 mins) Swimming (30 mins)
Monday - HST
Tuesday - Football (90 mins)
Wednesday - HST
Thursday - Rest
Friday - HST
Saturday - Rest
