** GORGEOUS NEW LG 4K MONITOR - LG 27GN950-B PRE-ORDER NOW **

ALT-TAB ISSUE (i.e Alt tab taking 1-2 seconds sometimes when coming from a full screen mode game)

For the ones who had this issue like me, I searched a lot and finally found a fix that (for the moment) seems to work for me : just desactivate the scaling in the NVidia Control Panel and the problem disapears

Post here : https://linustechtips.com/topic/1264903-alt-tab-takes-longer/

EDIT : it happens less but it still happens ... anyone knows how to "set input to manual on monitor. Ie. Displayport" ?

Tell me if it worked for you

Cheers

Thank you! I'll give this a go from tonight

I don't know if I missed it but did anyone find a fix to the black screen on a PC restart/wake up from sleep?

No fix seen anywhere for this. Instead, my method is problem avoidance. I turned off PC sleep in windows. Display sleep is ok... it wakes the display back up with a keypress or mouse move.

No problem with my hdmi (laptop) sleeping though, on this monitor.

Ordered mine on the 10th of December.
Glad it's on it's way though, cos my 3080 isn't really made for 1080p gaming :)
I know right, my 1080p 60hz screen isn't doing my 3080 justice. But I ordered my monitor on Jan 5th so I guess I'll be waiting a while still. Would be nice to have a rough estimate on dispatch.

Enjoy the new monitor, only a little jealous!

I ordered mine on the 01/01/21 08:50 and I didn’t get any updates. So I sent a web note, got a reply on the 29/01/21 saying I was 71 in the queue. I can’t wait for it to come into stock, because I also ordered a keyboard too, but can’t get the keyboard till the monitor arrives as OC don’t deliver part of the order (which is decent to be fair).

I picked a hell of a time to build my first ever pc.

How long did you wait for webnote response? Apart from the automated 'message received' email I am yet to get a response via webnote - last time I resorted to calling them and spent in excess of 50 mins on hold to wait to speak to someone as that was only way I could get answer.

I started the webnote 27/01/21, as I initially asked when I would receive a keyboard that I ordered with the monitor. They responded on the 28th telling me about that the keyboard I ordered wouldn’t be shipped till the monitor was in stock. Then on the 28th was the reply about my monitor queue.

What was your last known position on the monitor queue?

wasnt told specific number when I called. Just that they took option to buy off website when they exceeded 250 prepaid orders. Chap I spoke to, very keen to help, but didn’t have any real details. Just that high demand, not many units coming in but they’re sending them out as soon as they come in. But not time scale as to when they’ll be able to satisfy existing orders. Spreadsheet he saw, he said, had no stock due in February… I’ve submitted another webnote this afternoon. See if I get anything back this time.
Note. I placed order on 02JAN21 so expecting there are still fair few ahead of me. Ironically I’d been umm’ing and arr’ing for a few weeks - wish I’d just placed order earlier. I (foolishly) expected all orders to be satisfied on the date they had displayed on website, didn’t realise it was this bad.
Took me less time to find 3090!

Fingers crossed you’re not to high then. I was the same, umm’ing and arr’ing too. This is my first ever build, and all I’m waiting on is the monitor that also has the keyboard in the order and the GPU (also went with 3090). I’m not expecting anything till Chinese New Year is over (I hope they enjoy every moment of it) next Tuesday , 100% for the gpu, but LG’s monitor factory is in China I believe, I did me a Google a few days ago and I’m sure that’s what it said. Lucky enough I don’t need it till April, so fingers crossed it all comes before then.
If I hear anything or find a new queue position, I’ll update you.

great news! Glad you like it!

question; when did you order?

Enjoy that 4K 144hz crispness.

I ordered 10th of Dec.

I was honestly surprised to see the dispatch email as I was under the impression it would be March at the earliest for it to turn up.

Had to wait 2 months for my new build and also over 2 months for this monitor. PC parts recently is a joke for availability.

Happy for you ! Glad it’s a good bit of kit. Fingers crossed for the rest of us.

Just had reply to my webnote from 2 days ago... as of today I am 35th in queue. I'm guessing you'll be a few ahead of me as you ordered 2 days before me. It does follow on to say 'stock is due this month' but didn't say when this month, or how many are due in. It does lend to imply queue position doesn't include prebuilt orders - so who knows.

My apprehension is reading LG's press release that they are discontinuing this product very soon; to be succeeded by 27GP950; identical except HDMI is 2.1. Personally I don't care too much for 2.1 as I'll only be using this monitor to connect PC - via Display Port. But guessing new product = price increase. I doubt LG (or Overclockers) are going to send you GP model when you ordered GN. So where does that leave us?

Well that is good news, at least the list is going down, even if it is a trickle. I can't remember if I said it in this thread or another; but LG Monitors factories are in China, at the moment it is China's well deserved new year. So I wouldn't have high hopes for a massive stock flow.

I read something similar online too. I think I read a rough date of March / April. Now we both know that OC ain't a big multimillion quid business like some retailers. So I can only see one of two options:

A) We are giving the option of a full refund for the monitor.

or

B) We can get priority on the new model, but paying the difference to match the new price.

This is speculation of course. I myself would jump onto the new monitor, given the option and would pay the new price if required as I will be using this Monitor for both PC and Console.
This is my first ever time building / owning a gaming PC. The timing is naff, but it is what it is. I am waiting on my GPU, and a keyboard I've ordered with the monitor. So HDMI 2.1 would be useful.

Think this is one of those things to keep a finger on the pulse about.

LG have told me that while supply of this panel has been terrible supply of the replacement should be better.

Once we have info on it and it set up on our system we'll email anyone with a pre-order offering them first dibs on migrating to the new SKU (if more expensive paying the difference, If less expensive refunding the difference).

Should know more in March/April, until then I expect stock to just trickle in and we'll ship to existing pre-orders in date/time order.

Such a shame with this panel as it is SO good!

That sounds great - a few crazy questions; which I think I know the answer to - 'No' as would be too difficult to fairly implement.

1. Are you able to offer 'upgrade' to all existing pre-orders now? - some may jump at it for added functionality, and lets face it we've all been waiting a while, so a little longer wont matter and those that aren't fussed or not willing to pay even more could get their order completed earlier.

2. If/when you offer option to migrate to new unit, will your queue position be in line with your current (GN) order or new queue from when you action upgrade/migrate (to GP) be generated?
Further complication; you do above, everyone jumps to GP then you're left with unsold GN... hardly worst place to be, as like you say, its SO good - should fly off shelves.

1: no, we have to wait for the product information from LG.

2. It would likely be in line with peoples responses to the email. First come first served.
