Got £200 to spend on speakers

will if you want a quality subwoofer, consider these two. Considerbly higher end than the Monolith.

I'm not sure if you're going to use the Monolith with your Logitech's, it will work, but really it's a silly thing to do. Trust me, I'm into audio & HT and getting a good subwoofer first is just daft. Subwoofer was the last thing in my mind when getting components, and looking at it now it is wrong way of starting your audio setup.

Buy a stereo amplifier first with speakers. Then save up a couple of thousand and add the rest (you will need £2K if you want a screen as well)

There's more to bass than how loud it is. Depth, distortion and frequency flatness

Ok, as i said i aint going to use another subwoofer with my z5500, it was just a wild though ok, yea maybe those SVS are higher end, but they really do cost a lot more, the Monolith aint crap, i aint bothered whats better, the Monolith is what i was for my first subwoofer :) , i aint saying when i will get it, i will proberbly take your advice and get the speakers and amp first, the Monolith can do 20Hz @ 100Db, which personly, for me is very, very good.

I know its not all about bass, but if i am listning to music and there is no bass at all, then i feel there is something missing from the music, because there is, the low end is missing.

i bet carl was blown away with the sound of the logitechs....like i was.
this is by fay the best £200 i ever spent
in front of me now is a cd/amp/speakers and with cables cost about £2800........cant beleive i paid more for a pair of interconnects than the logitech z5500 !

Please update Carl! I'm in a similar situation so your findings would be much appreciated =D

Well if its any consolation, I went from Creative Itrigue 5.1s to a Cambridge A5 and some Mission 751s, coupled with a creative X-Fi and I love the difference. The clarity of music, frequencies, more controlled bass etc is so much nicer :)

See the bottom of the first page of this thread if you havent done so already to see what it looks like :D

And sounds like you went highend goodshot, for £2800 I'd imagine you have a VERY nice setup :D
