This game looks amazing and is most probably a oblivion beater its out on oct 13 which is very soon. Im just a bit curious though why there hasnt been much press on this game when its coming out so soon. From what ive been following it sounds like a brilliant game with the TOTAL and i mean TOTAL open endness of the story :)
gothic 3

Does this sound like a genuine mistake or r they rushing it out to the shops so:
On September 12th we have shipped a Goldmaster version of Gothic 3 for replication. However, due to several problems that got known only afterwards no production has taken place, instead we decided to create another, new goldmaster.
This new master is currently (Sep 21st) still being worked on!
Therefore, no one has had any access to the version that will start selling on October 13th in various European territories.
No testing (by external persons) of this version can have been done. All test results that have been published up to now are based on the scrapped goldmaster or in many cases on even older preview versions.

I've been keeping an eye on this one and will probably get it on release.
Thing is, I've just gone and bought Company of Heroes and now this is coming out.

There's been a game drought and now we're in for the usual winter downpour, and with the Wii out soon I'm going to be busy having fun for quite some time :D

i remember playing gothic 1 briefly was overwhelmed by the size of the game. combat system was errr confusing.

sadly never had time to really play it as it sounded ace.

you can get gothic 2 easily online because I was going to buy a copy to test out sometime ago,

There is 1 MASSIVE problem with this game, it uses the same LoD software as oblivion, so expect great graphics 100 yrds infront and then massive pixeled rubbish after.

Thats exactly what i was thinking , gay horrible engine

From the few videos and screenshots I've seen, the drawdistance isn't as far as Oblivion. A lot of the action that has been shown is in towns where the user can't see as far, and those sections that are outside tend to be more densely wooded compared to Oblivion, and the user of fogging helps obscure those textures that are further away.

Of course this may turn out to be videos and screenshots that were carefully chosen to hide any texture issues, or possibly they've seen what happened with oblivion and increased the texture resolution themselves. Guess we'll need to wiat till Friday to find out for sure.

Roll on Friday :)

there ive just preordered it and i should have it friday or saturday at the latest.
I would feel a bit more at ease if i saw a review of this game it does sound a bit dodgy :)

Ah, that's a bit harsh now. It's like having the world's sexiest woman jumping into bed with you and you complaining that you don't like her makeup. How many games do you know that even try to do distant landscapes?

Depends if the makeup she has on makes her look like a clown :D

9/10* guys bed a women focusing on their satisfaction anywhere below their partner's neck. So face makeup to most guys ain't worth jack.

*79% of statistics are made on the spot.

Anyway, I'm hoping Gothic 3 isn't going to be as demanding as Oblivion, my Ati 9600np is gonna die soon.

No there never was an official release. But the Fans made subtitles. It was (maybe still is) available for free download.
