Gothic 3

Ah, that's a bit harsh now. It's like having the world's sexiest woman jumping into bed with you and you complaining that you don't like her makeup. How many games do you know that even try to do distant landscapes?

Thats true, but when you put a label on a game saying "Best RPG ever made, revolutionary graphics" you dont expect PS1 graphics in the background, NPC's that glide on the floor and unrealistic physics.

Yes there WAS an official release , what do you think i posted above you?

Sorry I didn't know that. That release must have been at least a year after the german release ?

Edit: Did you play it ? I did some research on Google & it looks like they just implemented the Subtitles in the "Gold Version".

There is no English Artwork on any Covers for NIght of the Raven.

Basically its the gold version with the raven release included , if i remember rightly when you install the game it says " insert ravent cd xx " . I think if you cancel this it just installs the gothic 2 game.

I didn't get that far to play it actually :(

But it is english , and was released some time after the german release which is what you said

How big is the game world then? I assume its all open like Morrowind/Oblivion and you can do anything you want to? And the big question is do you have to have played the other two to play this one?

EDIT: Just found some info in a preview, if case anyone else was wondering...."Gothic 3 is only slightly smaller than the world of Oblivion"

Looks great but i think the wife will divorce me if I buy yet another game like oblivion. I'm restricted to games that take 10\15 hours to complete, think I clocked up 250+ hours on oblivion.

Gothic 2 was certainly very open and had several completely different paths through at least the first half of the game. However it did use the trick of placing difficult monsters at certain points that you'd never get past until you'd reached a certain level.

Now I pre ordered mine but I'm a bit worried that I won't receive it on the release Date (Friday)

Does anyone know of any high street shops that will have it in Stock friday ?

Thats what Oblivion needed, rather then the mobs scaling with your level, you have mobs in static spawns.

So many mods out there can sort that issue, I actually find that challenging, instead of just static spawn - apart from getting killed by a rat at level 16.

Pre ordered my copy, hopefully get it the day before official release, as I have with other games.

I'm really looking forward to this now. Oblivion dissapointed me greatly, and is only worth playing after adding some mods like OOO 1.3 etc imo.....seems Gothic 3 hasn't got all that scaled creature/npc rubbish so thats a good sign, plus I really enjoyed Gothic 2 and it seems they've improved on that in many ways with this version (going on all the previews I've seen anyway) :)

The world in Gothic 3 is pretty seamless apparently. Where there is no loading screens. You can walk from one end of the continent to the other and into all the buildings/caves without a loading screen in sight.

Was it just me that found the control system and menu system in Gothic 1 & 2 a tad... clumsy?

I hope they've improved it as I loved the gameplay but hated the controls.
It was when I went back for a go a couple months back, but the first time I played I never noticed, to be honest. I just had loads of fun - my attempts several months back were a total waste of time, though. I couldn't even figure out how to cast spells, so I gave up ;)

English ( badly translated )

Question: On which system do you play G3?
Answer: On a AMD 64 3500+, 2048MB RAM, and a Geforce 6800GT with 128MB memory.

Question: How are the Perfomance and the representation quality? Differently expressed: Can someone, which has a system as you, expects, to see a similar diagram splendour as Oblivion?
Answer: That is difficult to answer, because the diagram styles differ from Gothic 3 and Oblivion strongly. Who has a system as I, can play with high details and a dissolution of 1280*1024 usually ruckelfrei.
