Another reason to keep it going, the idea of a new car is great but the costs are insane considering I pay next to nothing for my climate killing 10yr old diesel.

Just looked at the article, a complete lie for a headline.
The article goes on to say it will increase by RPI.
Have people not worked out these headlines?

yes it's crap - they could have just printed old and new values and the delta increases -Just looked at the article, a complete lie for a headline.
Too many cars on the road, it's a no brainer really. But compared with insurance and fuel costs it is nominal. I think that currently there is a flat rate of £160+ for all cars newer than a certain date but below £40k new retail price. Whatever the emissions.
Up to £255 from £240 for the likes of us I think. Better than a £140 increase like the title made it sound!Survived a slight increase on band G, phew!
