GPL - OcUK GPL League Summer 2003 Series!

congrats to bigsy on finally beating GBB's gplrank :) some really nice times in that rank pal. i'm especially jealous of the ring and glen times.

i haven't had much time for gpl the past couple of months (or anything else!) and now i've got a thesis to write so i can become Dr. SJ :) my gplage will suffer tho :(

Thanks SJ it certainly took some doing but I made it :)

BTW you have no idea how many laps it took me to get into the 1.03's at the glen.....it nearly killed me trying :)
 
I noticed GBB lurking around in some thread recently. I wonder if he'd consider rejoining our league? And you bigsy :) now you've given us a head start we might stand a chance even if you come back.

Oh God what am i saying!, I can kiss goodbye to winning if you two come back :rolleyes:


btw, for those part time GPLers, we have had a cracking couple of opening races in the summer season, still early enough to join up. Also we may have another friendlier championship starting up soon

I've completed a lap without crashing a few times

My best ever run was at silverstone, did a 1.42m lap. Sill around 12 seconds of the pace, but i've only had gpl a few days...:)

To race in the summer league you will need a GPL Rank of 107% or better. If you go to the league website its all explained on there. This requires you putting in a reasonable time on all the standard tracks.
We are considering setting up another championship to run alongside the main one which will be easier to join if we get it set up.

follow the instructions there and when you are signed up you can search for our league and add the drivers to your buddy list so you can keep track of everyone's rank and gradually hunt us down :)

"is there a Dr in the house" kind of thing!!! :)

i'll do my best to make the rest of the races in the summer league but can't guarantee it guys. just been invited to amsterdam to give a seminar and discuss possible post-doctoral research opportunities there :) hoping for an offer from UPenn in USA as well. but we'll see.

That's the Zandvoort race we will miss Sharky. (thank god, cos i hate Zandy)

There are several versions of Zeltweg, by the same person. And then there is the osring by dave noonan.

We are using the latest version of Zeltweg (not osring) I've seen it called Zeltweg74, Zeltweg72 and Zeltweg70 and to be honest i'm a bit confuesed about the naming of them. My track folder is called Zeltweg70. i think people refer to this as zeltweg74 aswell as zeltweg70. I downloaded a replay called zeltweg74 and it showed up in gpl as zeltweg70. Ok my head is about to implode now. :o

anyway this is the place to get it from.

okey dokey, i have written the words for the zandy race report - anyone volunteer to do some screenies for me? i will provide exact time / person i want the replay of at the specific place in the report. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease :)

installed zeltweg this morning. my folder is just called zeltweg :confused: but it is def the right one :) fastest time so far is 1:45.7 after about 10 laps.

Zuma, you must be flying around Zeltweg by now, you've given the impression that you've been practicing a lot - for about the last two weeks at least :)

My money is on Zuma for the win :)

Gotta try this track out now, I want to finish in front of dreeder, hes like my benchmark or something :)

I am still trying to get used to my wheel and pedals atm. I have the wheel sorted ok now, but i am still struggling to get the braking right. I am totally inconsistant with my braking which means i have to brake early all the time. Hopefully more praccy will sort that out before the zeltweg race.

I did a 1.46 the other day though. :)

Well thats quite nice of you Linear, but I think you will find it more like im trying to catch and beat you :eek: , my GPL rank is very deceptive I set it using the joypad and at the moment im about 1seconds slower per lap using my wheel. Also youve beaten me in every event so far this season and id presume without checking that the same goes for leat season. Im currently scared that Skill is showing so much pace and I fear he currently has the potiental to beat both of us.
