- "Elite Tier" is a money no object, absolute no compromise top choice (including new feature support like raytracing)
- I've attempted to take both Raster and Raytracing performance into account, although it's often incredible difficult to balance with NVIDIA cards generally faster at Raytracing, and AMD cards normally offering more raster performance
- Towards the top of the able, the gap between tiers is a lot more variable - there may only be 5% between bottom cards of one tier, and the top card from the tier below, but yet could be 20% between the top and bottom performing cards within the same tier - It's incredibly difficult to average performance out and balance this out! (Older cards were a lot more obvious, as had bigger jumps in performance, and less models/variants)
- Intel ARC Performance is incredibly variable to different games / driver versions and likely to improve going forward

The above table is a rough guide to show how different GPU models stack up from both of the main vendors and between different generation (e.g. is a top end card from a couple of generations ago, still better than a brand new low end card)

It's based on the table from https://www.logicalincrements.com/articles/graphicscardcomparison, (which in itself was based on https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html) but since we've had the forum software updated, I though it better to have our own copy that has been and will continue to be tweaked if people find it useful.

I've removed everything pre Geforce 600 series / Radeon 7xxx series, as even these are both 10 years old at this point, and whilst some of the models still have the raw horsepower to play the latest games, the drivers are not being updated.

In addition I've linked most of the current products to the OcUK store pages

If you've got any suggestions, or even if you've found it useful, please leave a comment or a like :)

Thanks. This looks to be a really useful cheat sheet :) will likely end up referring to this a bunch

onenote if i may. I'd probably combine the L and M tiers as there's not much difference between them and not all that many cards.

Woohoo! my 780Ti hits the minimum specs.

Rtx 3070 needs demoting. No way that's playing anything other than minesweeper at 4k 60fps. Runs out of vram at 4k all the time too.

The b in general is over crowded. A 6800 isnt really near a 6800xt or 6900xt either.

Also a 12gb 3080 is basically same performance as a 3080ti and the 3090 and 3090ti are the only cards that support sli. So they should really be in a tier of there own, not with the 3080ti.

Then splitting the 7970 and 7970ghz between 2 different tiers seems silly.

Got anything to show that a 3070 is "running out of vram all the time"? As most sites shows otherwise, just one reputable site comparing it to its amd competitor (which only has the one RT title):

No doubt the 8gb is limiting for 4k and max settings without any upsampling in some scenarios such as fc 6 but to say "all the time" is just blatantly not true. There was a video here not long ago where someone showed a 3070 matching/beating a 6900xt in several titles because of DLSS and RT (no FSR was present to use for the 6900xt) so in more ways, it is a pretty good gpu on the "whole", hence why it is one of the most popular selling cards as per gibbos post in another thread.

Is the 3080 better than/equal to the 6900XT?

Mint.

Depends, ray tracing, it beats it. Rasterization wise, no, unless it's a game which favours nvidia. Throw in dlss then the water becomes even more murky....

Do think the 6900xt should be in tier a tbf but what exactly is the criteria of tier a?

Probably safe to say AMD will have a Tier A GPU with the 6950 XT soon :)
You need to add the 6950XT to the top tier. It also apparently beats the 3090Ti in time spy. :o
When will you be adding INTEL gpu's :D
Cards can only be added to the table when they are actually released and independently benchmarked :)

6900XT isn’t considered Tier A worthy?
I’d put the 6900xt in tier A.

I used the LogicalIncrements table as a starting point and they'd ranked the 6900XT in a 2nd tier.

Personally I think Tier A should be the absolute top "elite" tier products that will generally be fastest overall and supporting all "cutting edge" technologies i.e. Including have good Ray tracing performance

VRAM aside it's still a capable card in terms of raw horsepower - it may just need texture detail and a couple of other settings lowering to maintain a 60fps framerate at 1080P. I certainly wouldn't want to spend the kind of money that a 1650 or 6500XT commands for negligible improvements.

Rtx 3070 needs demoting. No way that's playing anything other than minesweeper at 4k 60fps. Runs out of vram at 4k all the time too.
It's still a very capable 1440p/144fps cad though, and in non-vram limited scenarios (i.e. lower a couple of settings), noticeably quicker than anything in the tier below. VRAM alone shouldn't be a deciding factor.

The b in general is over crowded. A 6800 isnt really near a 6800xt or 6900xt either.
Probably fair - Happy to move the 6800 down if other people agree

SLI is irrelevant these days - I'd even argue that the GTX690 / Radeon 7990 should be rated lower, as in terms of reliable performance, most of the time they'd be using a single GPU and perform lower.

Then splitting the 7970 and 7970ghz between 2 different tiers seems silly.
There's actually a decent performance uplift between the two when talking about the "stock" versions of both cards - something like 15%, so I'd stand by their slightly different positions

GTX690 should definitely be lower, it's technically a 2GB card. I had one, it was great at the time, but soon got old and actually went pop in the end.
