9070 should definitely be in tier D

As should the 7900xt in my opinion

Both aren't as fast as a 4070ti super which is in the tier below, just in raster.

At ray tracing the 4070ti super is loads faster than the 7900xt and decently faster than the 9070.

So it looks bizarre for that card to be in the tier below.

Or maybe the 4070ti super should be bumped up? But then that's awkward as the 5080 is a lot faster yet in the same tier. It's probably best of it's the fastest card in tier D.

It makes sense to me for tier C to be 5080, 4080, 4080 super, 7900xtx and 9070 XT, and for the 7900 XT and 9070 to drop to tier D.

I can see a case being made for a 5080 going tier b. But a 5070Ti? No chance...
I agree: sorry, I was not clear, I meant 5070Ti should maybe elevated in the order of Tier C i.e. above the 4080. I accept this is fine margins though

Won't please everyone, but:

10/03/25 - Added 5070, moved Geforce 6xx and Radeon HD7xxx to legacy table, rejigged top tiers
Never please everyone it is more a helpful guide than this is set in stone. I mean you could make a table based off pure raster, then a table based off RT, then a table based off upscaling and frame gen, etc. On and on and on. :) It looks decent enough to me.

Tier I now. Waiting for prices to normalise (a bit!) before my ascension.

*EDIT* Now on Tier B with the recent delivery of an RTX 5080 :D

i wouldnt buy a 3090 at these prices, all that vram is wanted by ai guys and proce goes way too high, either a 3080 12gb or a 4070 super for you...3080 has higher bus than any 4070 except the ti super

Question:
The 1440P 144fps claim is against tier G, but the forum recommends 5070/9070 (tier D) minimum for 1440p 144fps when discussing builds.
How do I reconcile the difference? (I'm planning a 1440p 144fps build soon).

You don't need a 5070 or 9070 for 1440p gaming. I have a 6900XT and gamed at 1440p 144fps+ and now I game at 4k (need FSR and frame gen to help though - game dependant). I had a 6700XT before that and gamed at 1440p as well, but, I recall most settings were on Medium. Not maxed out. Again, depends on the type of game. :)

So I personally think tier G, is still quite accurate for 1440p.
