I see. Did not know that, but makes sense to make a loss in the first year or so and then balance it out with making a small profit the rest of the life of the console. Naturally the console costs most the manufacture the first couple of years.ps4 made a loss at launch and wasnt recovered until after launch. i think they are now sold at a profit (marginally) not that it matters really.
I hope they do the same with the PS5 as I intend to buy that at launch
