GPU prices go boom

Eh?

We weren't discussing worth in that part of the thread we were discussing wear and tear. Of course the lower mileage vehicle would be saleable for more money. But you do also get faults and issues from under/low usage.

When did this turn into motors thread...LOL

The problem is we are all arguing over something that non of us can control

IF and its a big IF we can attribute the increase in prices to the "miners" ignoring the memory shortages used for phones etc (I may be off the mark there) There is nothing any of us can do.. Even if we hold our hands up and say yeah it all us it still wont fix anything.. Plus its hardly the guys like myself and some others on here who may have 60+gpu rigs that are the problem it'll be the 50-60k gpu farms that are the issue.

I couldn't give 2 hoots if no-one here wants to buy y cards (no they aint for sale) but If I wanted to there are plenty of other people who will

I love this thread.. If I'm having a bad day at teh office and feeling sorry for myself I pop into here and see that some people are much more unhappy then me....
Only 60 cards, lol

And poster has the cheek to have a go at gamers who can't even buy one card. Nice.

About the "miners underclock and undervolt" stuff. That's only for the core, right?

The memory on these mining cards has been overclocked a lot of the time, if they're mining Eth, etc.

Funnily enough it was the mem that failed the one time I did buy an ex-mining card.

So I don't believe the "mining cards are less stressed" garbage either. The memory on those cards is stressed to all hell and back. Just not the core, lol

FoxEye this is one of my rigs. Make of it what you will.....

Nope we can also undervolt the memory.

Can, yes. But if you were mining something like Eth you sure as hell wouldn't want to.

For Eth as I understand it +core gives diminishing returns very quickly, but every bit of +mem increases your hash rate, and thus return/ profitability.

Tell me honestly you're under-clocking memory on your cards? You probably won't be under-volting either if stock volts means better mem speed. Mem speed = $$$$.

I have purchased many cards from eBay over the years been fine for me, pay your money and make your choice I suppose.

One thing is for sure not paying the current retail prices and they look like they are only going to go up come the new wave of cards, does not help that there is no competition either.

Ethereum is dead, long live ASIC, houray!
for casual miners i mean, we might see gpus finaly go back to normal.

No, and ETH is going POS anyway. This affects AMD more than Nvidia cards anyway, and we know which gamers prefer. GPU profits have gone down the toilet anyway, its barely profitable in the UK anymore with our electric costs.

And cheap cards as the Gamers wont want them. So flood the market with cheap 2nd hand cards which should also lower the New market and we can buy new and old cheap....Yay

Looking forward to all these half-assed miners selling up, means that the network difficulties will drop and I will gain more coins for my efforts!

I agree.... Also will let me pick up some cheap GPU's for my little mining farm. :D

1060 @ £140-160 and 1070 @ £280-300 would be lovely, But that could be wishfull thinking
