Grammar lesson 101

Oh, no, a grammar and spelling thread. This always pops up. But oh well, I'll add my two cents worth.

First is the word, 'their' and 'there'. How on Earth can people get this wrong? Seriously?

Also, it's quite funny to see everyone, well, most spelling at their best in the English language.

Probably the only thread on the whole forum that you will see such excellent display of the English language. :p

Oh well, atleast someone quoted my post. Whether or not your noticed my attempted joke...well :o

Agreed here too.

'Why? Who would you like to lend it to?'

'innit' is another pet hate. As is people using double negatives.
'I never did nothing'

*PUNCH*
I heard a toothless benefit cheat on the telly last night, "We ain't 'ad no running wawta for three days."
I don't know why it gets to me but it does

Aye.

'Can I lend your pen' gets my goat as well.

My Uncle used to say that and 'Dave borrowed me some tools' etc.

My sister always says pacifically instead of specifically.

Another of my pet hates is mis-pronouncing words that are easy. Saying things like 'choc-lit' or 'toil-it'

How hard can it really be?

Haha.
A pet hate of mine is people that use 'brought' instead of 'bought'.

I actually saw that error in a local newspaper article the other day... I fear that people's English skills are plummeting and many rely on spellcheckers to spot errors for them - hence semantic errors like the brought/bought one getting through the net.
