Gran Turismo 7

Luckily I found the gold level ghost at the start for the licenses and flew through them. I have the ghost 0.4 ahead, so it doesn't block the view unless I'm doing very well, lol

Didn’t realise you could set the ghost further ahead. Yeah gets in the way at times. I had 2 going for a while but turned my ghost off as too distracting. Suzuka hairpin license bad memories lol

When you do the nation's or manufacturers cup. Are you meant to enter as many sessions as possible to get as many points as you can or should you stop if you win a race?

Decided to return and refund the game as I'm feeling frustrated with it in terms of the server outage, online DRM requirements to play the game (when I have a physical copy) and the amount of DLC/microtransactions. It feels like I've paid £70 for a free to-play DLC funded game!

Maybe I'll give it a try again in future when it's cheaper or bundled with PS Plus as I'm sure it'll be included there on the mid/high tier offerings. For now though I'm giving it a miss. Anyone else feeling disillusioned with how the launch of the GT7 has been handled?

The only result that counts is the last race you enter each day. If you do well in the 1st session, don't enter any others that day.

Thats the way i read it anyway.

Just realised you can enable gold ghost in the license tests so you can follow it and get a real time feel for how to do it.

Ive just spent the National and International licenses (probably around 5 hours worth of driving) with Youtube on my tablet watching videos for each test.....feeling quite stupid right now.

How?

That's what I thought as well, I had pole, clean race, fastest lap and won my race but I joined the last 2 sessions and there were people on with like a lot more points than me. After the second race I came 3rd in my points had went from 31 to 33. I then did the 8pm slot got pole but for some reason when the lights went out my car wouldn't move for 30 seconds. It would rev and go through all the gears but not move, finished 10th in that one. I checked today and I was on 25 points :/ but others in my group are on 40 which baffles me since I had the perfect 1st race.

It's a bit odd, if you look at the GT1 split for the current cups, they are on 300+ points after the 1st race.

If you look at the archive for season 1 manufacturers (GT3) - i think the 3rd race was Sukuka which i got pole/fastest lap/clean race/1st place - i got more points in the last race where i finished around 8th or 9th i think (started 14th as i was stuck in the pits with 3 others the whole qualifying season as someone black screened and didn't quit..). Only the best 3 were used for the total.

I may try a couple of different races one of the days and see what happens with points.

Worth a watch if you are new to tuning.

GT7 is missing the live suspension telemetry Forza has had for years unfortunately. So you cant set the camber up after watching the tyre heat across the tyre while lapping. Same issue with the damping and spring rates.

It's a shame there are no tyre pressures, castor and spring rates (although natural frequency seems to be similar) in the game.

ballast, and power restrictors and adjustable ecu's are a welcome change though!

finally finished the gr3 races, seemed to be stuck for ages on the daytona one but without changing anything after a couple of days of not playing it i easily did it.

Finally got a win on Race C, so many attempts, my luck finally came in with the leader getting complacent and spinning out out on 10/13 lap :)

I finally gave in and bought the Atenza Gr4 as i got fed up with them pulling away in the daily BOP races.

I'm now 2 seconds faster than my 458 Gr4 time in Race B - 1:38.485. I could drop another 3 or 4 tenths with a perfect lap.

Urgh, I've been trying to avoid getting that car as much as possible. Are you still DR:B or have you managed to go up so more? I really need to do more regular Sport and get out of 'C' as I did every Nations Cup Slot yesterday and with the exception of the very last one I got torpedoed by someone 5 places back at the first corner every time.

I don’t have enough for the Atenza. Just pulls away from my 458. I am pretty slow though.

If you grind the Mountain Trail Cup or whatever it's called 4 times if you get clean races, that'll give you enough money to get the car. If you have the Dodge Tomahawk thingy it only takes 8 minutes to do both races. Depends how much you've already got if you want to grind to cover the full cost or just to make up the difference, shouldn't take too long.

Luckily I'm in low enough ranked races that most people aren't using this. It's much more fun with everyone using a good mix of cars. Hopefully they fix it

Yeah i was too, but it's not really worth driving anything else in Gr4 until BOP is corrected. I've bought loads of Gr3 cars trying to avoid the RCZ around 15 people use in each Gr3 race too.

Yeah i'm still in DR:B (GT2 in the Cup races), the Manufacturers race on Saturday went alright in the Porsche, i made up a few position's after getting punted off on the 2nd Lap.

The Nation's Cup race i was in yesterday (That track is terrible for online racing), i only qualified 14th with a 1:44.5 (i think) in the Alfa 4C, was in 6th after the first lap (Standing start race at last :) ), then got used as someone's brakes and dropped back to 14th, i made it back to 9th by the end. The track wasn't great in a small engined turbo car out of all the tight corners waiting for boost.

After bankrupting myself with the Gr3 cars, i went back to tuning my 600pp Evo Final and 700pp Ford GT, running them in single player cup's to get credits at the same time, both are pretty much sorted now and a made about 1 million credits in the process :)
