Gran Turismo 7

Agreed, it would take something special to beat GT4 for me. I'm enjoying playing GT7 but its lost its charm for me, maybe thats just an age thing haha
Just got it up and running on my Lenovo Go, runs brilliant and the handling is so much better than the later versions imo, also actually looks really good on the small screen :)

The currency grind is so frustrating. I need some legend cars for the cafe menus. 20 million quid each. Eff that.
Only bought this game in the Black Friday sales so only collector level 20. Got an invite last week for a Porsche that was £2.3m and that was a grind, not looking forward to £20m.

Got a vr2 last year and used it for a bit with gt7 which was great. Got a wheel at Xmas and played it for the first time with the vr tonight

Wow is my only reaction !

Just need to get faster with the wheel now. Guess it’s going to take a while to get past the years of playing with controllers

Enjoying the brand hatch race this week

Do you know how to turn the car AC on when in VR :D

GT7 is brilliant in VR, just looking around the different car dashboards is impressive. The races are great.

Oh that's interesting, I'll have to give it a try on my rog ally.

You should check out the Spec II mod for GT4 too, it improves the camera and adds extra races plus many other fixes. It has a car prize randomiser which is pretty fun too and mixes up your play throughs (considering I've done the first 5h of GT4 many many times)

Finally managed to get a discount deal on PSN so was able to try an online daily race for the first time.

Tried the daily race A Go-karts, messed up my start and got a penalty then spun on the 2nd lap and couldn't get off the grass

Finished last but at least I didn't quit. Tried a couple more races and got better each go, finished 5th on my last race and got a clean race bonus. Enjoyed it, hands were sweating buckets though :D

Honestly it is very addictive playing online and the more you do it the more you’ll want. I love hotlapping daily races then qualifying to get as high up as I can. Win some, lose some but it is always great fun racing online. Generally go for daily race B as that suits me and the time I have to do them.

Can you help me tune my Nissan 400R for a 800PP race on Trial Mountain?

Nissan 400R 800PP Trial Mountain Tuning Sheet
*Focus: Balanced grip for elevation changes, technical corners, and the long straight.*

Power/Weight:
- Engine Upgrades: High-RPM Turbo (+600-650HP).
- Weight Reduction: Stage 4 (1,250-1,300kg).
- Power Limiter: Adjust to ~650HP (meet PP limit).

Suspension (Ride Height Adjustable):
- Ride Height: 70mm (Front), 75mm (Rear)
- Anti-Roll Bars: 6 (Front), 5 (Rear)
- Damping:
- Compression: 35% (Front), 30% (Rear)
- Rebound: 55% (Front), 50% (Rear)
- Camber: 2.0° (Front), 1.5° (Rear)
- Toe: -0.10 (Front), +0.20 (Rear)

Transmission:
- Final Gear: 3.800
- Top Speed: Set to 280km/h (auto-adjust gears), then fine-tune ratios:
- 1st: 3.200 | 2nd: 2.500 | 3rd: 1.950 | 4th: 1.600 | 5th: 1.350 | 6th: 1.150

Aerodynamics:
- Downforce: 200 (Front), 350 (Rear)

LSD:
- Initial Torque: 10
- Accel Sensitivity: 45
- Braking Sensitivity: 25

Brakes:
- Balance: -2 (Rearward)

Tires: Racing Hard (or Medium if PP allows).

Additional Tips:
- Use ballast (50-100kg) near the rear if traction is an issue.
- Adjust torque distribution (if AWD-converted) to 40:60.
- Soften rear suspension slightly if oversteering on elevation drops.

Test on Sector 1 (tight hairpin) and the final straight for stability.

What type of tire should I use when the track is damp?

Damp Track Tire Guide (Gran Turismo 7)
Use Intermediate (Wet) Tires if the track has visible puddles or light rain. They provide optimal grip in damp conditions without overheating like slicks.

If PP-restricted:
- Racing Softs *can* work on *lightly damp* surfaces (e.g., morning dew) but avoid standing water.
- Adjust suspension for stability:
- Increase downforce (e.g., +20-30 front/rear).
- Soften damping (Rebound: -5-10% vs dry setup).

Key Adjustments:
- Traction Control: 3-4 (prevents wheelspin on exits like Trial Mountain's uphill hairpin).
- Brake Balance: -1 to -2 (rearward to avoid locking fronts).
- Short-shift gears to manage torque in slippery zones.

Pro Tip: If rain intensifies mid-race, pit for Heavy Wet Tires immediately. Monitor the radar! ️

This is such a cool idea, could I suggest you add some sample queries that users can click on? Might be a good way of showing the kinds of problems it can help with. Could also be worth adding some daily race info for convenience sake? e.g Trail Mountain, 10 laps, mandatory tyre change so that a user can ask a question without having to add all those details manually.

Finished menu 39 today. 56 hours in so far, still loving this. Need to spend more time in the circuit experiences and practice trail braking to help me compete online.

For those playing with a wheel, what one are you using? I'm bew to GT7 I have PSVR2, and now looking to get a wheel.
I've got the Logitech G923 and pedals on a GT Omega stand.

Not bother with the Logitech shifter though as I read it's a bit flimsy and offers little resistance when changing gears.

Have a look on second hand sites. I picked up my wheel and pedals for £100 and they look brand new.

I've got the Logitech G923 the same as meths mounted to a Playseat Trophy. I've also got the H shifter but wouldn't recommend it, you are faster paddle shifting and the H shifter is poor and very flimsy as mentioned, there are mods to stiffen it up and increase the resistance but I haven't bothered. I've added MVH Studios load cell to the brake pedal, it is better than stock but I'm still not satisfied, so keep looking at upgrading to a direct drive wheel with new pedals :D

I've seen a Thrustmaster T300 seems decent, but for a little more maybe a get a DD, honestly I've not tried either so I have no idea in real world what DD offers, I understand the tech behind them both but without actually testing them it's had to imagine what ppl are saying in youtune videos.

I've been looking at DD and for some reason they all seem to be out of stock, both Moza and Fanatec, I cant get the Thrustmaster T598 thats nowhere to be seen, and i refuse to get the Turtle Beach DD lol, no doubt thats out of stock also. I'm asuming new wheel kits are coming out from the big names hence them being OOS.

Have you checked compatibly with the Moza and Turtle Beach with Playstation?

I believe only the Thrustmaster T598, Fanatec GT DD Pro/Extreme and Logitech G Pro direct drive wheels are natively compatible with PS5.
