Gran Turismo 7

I dont get this.... my favourite car is the Ferrari 458.

WTC 600 championship. Configured the car, absolutely drives sweetly.
No matter what I do I can never finish 1st in the 2nd and 3rd race.
My times are **** hot. I am sure of it.

Yet I read up that if I use the Ford GT 06, I would prosper more.
So I tried it and I did. FIRST TIME.

Funny thing is, my lap times were MUCH SLOWER than the Ferrari 458.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
For the wtc 600 I used the suzuki swift bang on a set racing hards and you can do the 10laps without pitting and obviously win.

What tyres do you run on the Ford GT 06? It's a death trap for me using sports med.

If time allows, I’ll be up for joining in with some of the online races. Pretty sure I have a few of you from the GTSport days still in my friends list, but feel free to add me BigshotPie.

Racing Hards I believe.

But I dont get it because with the Ferrari 458 my lap times are FASTER around the circuits than the Ford.
Yet with the Ford I finished 1st in each race, the first time using it!

Its like some kind of bug in the game? Use a Ford and its easier?

It could be like the missions where there are different versions of the same mission. The AI do different things during the race, or the wind is in a different direction and speed (this makes it easy or impossible to get gold in the slip stream missions).

I won the WTC600 races in a Evo Final '15 that i tuned. I haven't done the new Tokyo WTC600 race yet though (i'd rather make credits in the WTC700 Lemans race).

The AI is strange.

If you go too fast it can stay ahead.

Other times you can crash early on and because you go slow the race leader also goes slow and then upu can overtake and win...

Gr4 for Race B & C this week, with all the variety that brings..i was in 7th up until i noticed i needed to fuel save for a 1.5 laps to finish without pitting.

I'll try a few different cars, before i give up and use the Atenza too.

Time to get the Atenza by the looks of it then!

Yeah it's not really worth driving any other Gr4, unless you want an massive challenge. I was instantly 2 seconds faster when i used the Atenza in the last daily Gr4 race.

I will see what the other AWD Gr4's are like before i just use the Atenza. The Veyron handles well but its heavy, i haven't tried the GTR, Evo, Subaru, Lambo, Genesis or Atenza round the track yet.

To the person that was asking if changing the LSD options helped me with my RWD oversteer issues:

Yes.

Reduce the acceleration sensitivity to 0-20 on the fully customisable LSD and the completely wild RWD cars are somewhat tamed and drivable again. At least my 700PP Mustang is now anyway. I'm not sure of other impacts, but now I can drive the car the handling did tend towards understeer, especially at low speeds, so I've also tweaked toe and camber to help counteract this and have something a little less stable, but with nicer turn-in. More work to do but I can now compete...

Penalty system in the game is wild. Someone just cannonballed into me sending me into a group of cars and I got a penalty for that. Completely wasting all my time doing the qualifying and then half the race!

Well I bought it and it’s a bit dull but you can really abuse it where you can’t with other cars.

I like having 8 laps in B I’ve not really raced this track but getting to know it pretty fast.

I've tested all the Gr4 AWD cars on Catalunya, i'm actually fastest in the Lambo (1:55.6) at the moment, then GT-R and Atenza both about 0.2 slower.

I need to race the Atenza and see how much fuel management it takes over the 10 laps, the Lambo needs quite a bit, when i move from map 1 the Atenza's start pulling away. best so far is a start 7th and finish 7th.

I think i've maxed out the collectors level at 50, todays roulette ticket gave me 500k and it wasn't the lowest value prize!

I'm 64% through Circuit Experiences, i have 4 left to fully gold in Europe (Nordschleife, Leman's (can't gold the last sector at all) and 2 others in Gr1's), the Fisherman's one in America i haven't touched, on to Asia next.

I know I was never in the quick group, but TBH I seem to really struggle on most of the circuit experience stuff.
I'll have to find an easier way to earn the in game car vouchers :p

For all of the Licenses/Missions/Circuit Experiences i found if i set the Demo ghost offset to 0.3 or 0.4 (if it's getting in the way) and just chase it down it helps a lot even if i don't know the track very well.

The demo Ghost is apparently 1 second faster than the gold time. I've had ABS on Default and TCS on 1 for all of them (on controller).

Thank you Spaceman ... now that may help some, where do you change ghosts ?
I didn't realise I could use ghosts other than my own, is it just the demo ghost or can you use friends ghosts too ?

This is what I do as well and then when I get if I get stuck on a particular mission/test I set the ghost to be the distance of what I need get gold so I know where I'm making progress or falling behind.

@Vogon You change the Ghost settings from the pre-race menu. When you load a test/mission before you click to start scroll across to settings (I think its the icon with the lines and there is a menu for Ghost, you can actually set quite a lot of settings for the Ghost).

The Atenza has really no issue with fuel management, short shift around 6.5-7k RPM on normal fuel mixture and it's absolutely fine. That then leaves you 1/2 laps to go to max RPM as well
It's disappointing it has such a dominance, I don't really enjoy driving it as it's quite understeery btu it is definitely quick
