My local 24hour has 50 XBox360 versions, and 36 PS3 versions. First come first served.
Theres also 2 miles bigger 24hr supermarkets in Bolton too, they will have more he said.

Think i'll just go down at 11:45, its only 2 mins in the car, cant see there being 80 ppl queued up for it.

There was only 10 people queuing for a Wii in the very large supermarket when that was released. Ther was probs about 3 people all night who got turned away.

I'm fairly optimistic I'll get a copy tonight, not too bothered if I don't, 360 won't be here till tommorow or day after!

That could make Take Two $540,000,000 according to a Digg comment. Crumbs.

$540,000,000 for 9 million copies means Take Two would make $60 for each game, which is the game's retail price. Forgetting of course that no one person gets to pocket anywhere near the whole retail price of a game, they all get a slice of the pie.

I don't see why not. Halo 3 sold 6 million during its first week and that was only on one console.

Fair point, I'm forgetting that will mean Worldwide and not just US sales. Still 9 million is a lot of sales, especially for the first week.

I have the 360 version and my son has the ps3 one.
I have tried them both on the same lcd tv and to be honest there is very little in it between the two.
I had to turn the brightness up a little bit on the ps3 version and the colours seem a bit better on the 360 one.
The cut scenes load in slightly quicker on the ps3 but there is not a lot in it.
To me as i have seen and played both of them its down to throwing a coin to which version to get.
Unless of course you want the DLC on the 360 version and you like the 360 controller better than the ps3s.
To prove that i have and played them my gamertag is geordie 10 on both consoles.

Tomorrow, I will have a copy of GTA IV in my hands for the PS3. I will caress it's narrow edges and stroke the cover art gently, and reassuringly. I'll admire the artwork on the disc label, and read through the manual, absorbing every last detail, sniffing the freshly printed pages as I go.
















That's all I'll be able to do though, AS I STILL WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY IT WITH THE DAMN PS3 I DON'T YET HAVE.

Gears of War was 720p. Still one of the best looking games out imo.

Yeah but it was about 6 hours long tops, had next to nothing to offer on the multiplayer front either compared to a GRAW/COD/R6 shooter.

Gimme a 15 hour Gears game, 15 multiplayer maps and 8-10 ways of playing the multi in 720p that runs smoothly and I will be impressed.

The length wont make a difference to graphics, multiplayer maps are a lot smaller than single player and the file sizes are relatively small. Gears already has a lot of maps after the 2 map packs.

Again the different modes make no difference to the size of the game or graphics because its just a different piece of code for each gametype.
