*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

To be honest, It's not something you'll notice, On release nobody did, It was only after some indepth analysis did it come to light.

If you are going for a version of the game, it still stands, that either version of the game is fantastic. And there's only slight differences between the 2.

aa improved and pop-ins being reduced on the PS3, But that's not saying the pop-ins are totally noticable on the 360. They hardly are.

Downloadable content is a plus for the 360 version, But it's not even out yet.

The 640 vs 720 thing is just fanboy fodder to be honest.

Well said that man !

I have got to admit though that the PS3 version is blurry (haven't seen the 360 to compare yet). I'm going to turn up the sharpness on my HDTV tonight, as a few have suggested, to get an overall, albeit artifical, sharpness.

I believe that content is out in August too, so just as you think GTAIV is now boring.. more story to go through! and then again sometime next year, or something

Or... just as you think GTA:IV has become stale and boring, you're now asked to do hours of the exact same things! :p

you know when you first start the game, you on that southern island? the other places round the map, are they a lot bigger? dumb question i know, but i mean the height of the buildings and stuff like skyscrapers?

I posted this in the spoiler thread but it's not a spoiler, and I haven't seen anyone mention it so far.....
Has everyone seen or heard of the ZIT service in-game?
If you hear a song that you like on the radio in GTA4 dial ZiT-555-0100 on the in-game mobile phone and you'll get a text back saying the artist and title!
In the US you also have the ability to buy the MP3 from Amazon (aparently this will role out to other regions).
How cool is that!?

Do you get to see main characters just cruising around the city even when you are just messing around? Or do they only show up when related to missions?

Is there a way to do something awesome, and then replay it in cinematic mode.

Because I have to be honest, It's kinda hard to drive around in cinematic mode :p but it looks well cool

What's the cheapest place to pick up a 360 and GTA IV, I saw on the telly somewhere doing one for £160 with GTA IV but can't remember the company now. :o

Also, does the Premium come with a cable for 720p or 1080p? I want to make sure I get the most out of it on a 50" plasma and not sure what cables are best?.

I was cautious with all the hype but can tell you depite only playing it for only a short time I am pretty impressed with it.

Have too much work on and a visit to Devon for weekend. Shame it's not winter when i could claim having flu.

Don't gimme this 360 crap, they are rubbishly ugly, loud and the pads are ewwwww

Playstation was and still is the best console series :)

720p?
640?

As long as i can play the game on my oldskool TV does that really matter?

Just had an hour on my PS3 copy so I've played both versions now.

My first feelings are that the cutscenes look better on PS3 but the in game play looks better on 360. For GTA I prefer the PS3 pad though, it doesn't strain my hands as much as playing the 360 version.

Not a lot to go on I know but that's just my first impressions of playing both versions.
