Graphics cards **WAS** not working, But OcUK sorted me out a peach!!!

So it does it at low loading too? hmm.

It could be the GPU's but the fact that both of them do it makes that a bit hard to believe, you'd have to pretty unlucky to get two of them with the same fault.

Have you tried running something Prime95 to test if your system memory is stable? faulty memory could be causing the graphics driver to crash.

Il do some more extreme load testing tonight to rule out anything other instabilities just in case.

I fear if will be of no use, I've been happily gaming away this past week with no issue since the cards were removed.

This whole situation has been bizarre.

I am sorry to hear of this issue, as I said in the customer service forum I didn't pick up any of your forum messages over the weekend as I was not in work over the weekend.

I arranged a pre paid label and collection of the cards and the headset under the RMA. My technicians personally tested the cards with me watching as well.

Looking at the test report for the cards they were both tested OK by the techies here and they couldn't find a fault.

They were tested on 3 different test rigs and the fault couldn't be replicated. I even watched for some time and nothing happened either so in accordance to the manufacturers testing spec they weren't found faulty.

It must be something else within your system causing the issue, I do understand your frustration in the matter but the cards were found A OK.

I even spoke to DPD and got them to re route the delivery to your alternative address.

What is the alternate card you've been using?

Do you have any other PCI-e/PCI slots in use at the same time of having the GFX installed by any chance?

Also, can you confirm what slots you had the GFX installed in, on the OC-x?

sounds like a nightmare buddy

i had very similar problems with sapphire tri-x 290... i was getting random black screens sometimes when desktop was idle other times when gaming sent back to ocuk and got a refund.

bought nvidia 780ti and its been hassle free!

lol at a ver depreciated value due to people selling there bitcoin rigs and everyone on the forum knowing ive had problems.

Im going to give it one last try -_-.

Ok this is off the top of my head.

Is the card much heavier than the 8800gt?

If so check the motherboard is not sagging or moving when you insert the card.

Also check underneath your motherboard as in, its not touching anything when
you insert the card.

Last but not least try another PC or motherboard as your PCIe bridge could be faulty,
with the higher spec cards load.

Other than the above I dont have a clue. :(

No solution so far, got the cards back. They seemed okay for a bit then the black screening and crashing ensues.

Did another fresh install of Windows to make sure I have tried last avenue.

Tried new bios update to rule that out again.

Nothing isntalled other the graphics drivers and a temp monitor to test while running a game.

Pfft.

Even does it when I pull up a youtube video every now and then, basically any time the gpus get used.

The crashes always coincide with a driver crash that either crashes the computer entirely or it will recover.

The rep from powercolor replied and I replied back but have heard nothing in the weeks since.

So im stuck and there is nothing more I can try.

Absolutely frustrated.

Yeah they are heavier but they are not sagging.

I am using a bench to test them on, I have tested them in a case out of a case and on the bench and on every occasion its the same thing.

Now I just had a crash at desktop. I can't even browse at desktop level now. And in the event view as I said above multiple instances of driver crashes. I could only view this after restarting however as the computer crashed completely.

What in the actual **** seriously.

No one is taking me seriously.
