graphics jerk

That is odd, ive played Oblivion here on my x1800 XT maxed out and ive never seen it jerk like that, it looks like it freezes, looks like a conflict somewhere to me, i remember years ago when i used to have a Soundblaster Live, i used to get exactly that with games, so i got shot of it and been fine ever since, creative may make good cards but their drivers are atrocious, ill never touch em again, was a huge problem back then that was, don't know what they like now as as i said i won t ever touch em again.

Try running system information (in start->programs->accessories->system tools) and under the Hardware Resources tab in Conflicts/Sharing just check for anything sharing an IRQ with your video card.

Hi,

This was all in conflicts, don't really understand it :D

Only thing I have installed into my computer is my graphics, and my wireless network card (D-Link DWL-G520+)

using onboard sound.

How bout disabling on board sound and trying the game to see if the jerks have gone.
You do that in bios, right?

Onboard Sound > Disable?

EDIT:

Disabled, tryed still jerks, guess we can rule out onboard sound. :(

There is normally an option to tick uninstall the onboard drivers, when you run the setup cd.

OK, finally got round to doing it.

First I tried my wireless network card, removed the hardware from pc, removed drivers.

Still the same..

Then I tried the audio.. deleted the audio drivers, disabled it in BIOs, still the same..

so anymore ideas? :(

I get this a little too, and am noticing my gfx card is sharing an IRQ with my network card. Do you think this might be causing the stutter I sometimes get?
If so, what would you recommend doing, as I only have slots in my pc, and the other is used by my X-Fi...
The other theory of course could be that jerks could be my screen...

No idea mate but im getting it massively is serious sam 2, but only in that game, its skipping heriffically and its unplayable, i have a 1800xt and have tried all the obvious stuff, short of an os install i cant think of anything else to try.

If it hasnt been said, what about Anisotropic Filtering?

I have changed mine from Application Controlled to 16x and it seems to have sorted my bit or jerk in COD2 :)
