graphics jerk

I'm using it.

It's obviously not this thats causing it.

I've tried with/without also the Dual Core Optimizer.

I noticed something weird, when I tried to play at 1280x1024 - I get like 17fps.. on a X1900XT!

checked the temp your graphics card perhaps?
another thing would be to run 3dmark 03/05 and check what scores your getting there.

something wrong with your 3dmark2005 score i think? i'm able to get around 5K with my x800xt? i would have expected around 8K with a x1900xt

Hi there

not sure if anyone has said this but I had my dual core overclocked and COD2 was jerky in DX9, yes I know its heavy going on a rig but should have been fine on mine and it wasn't, I set everything to default in the BIOS and triend COD2 again and it was smooth as silk, I then started to overclock bit by bits until I was happy and had a smooth game still??

This may or may not help, just an idea mate ;)

I think so. It's not 'Perfect' but it runs smoother.

and like someone said, oblivion kinda gets bit of stutter at times.

This monitor is old, its a Dell E773p, which I got like 3 years ago now.. refurbished.. for like £45.

Ah I see, maybe invest in a nice LCD like I did................

After all when ever your using the pc your looking at the monitor so it should be a half decent model :D

Glad you found the issue though

Well this is weird, i decided to install Oblivion again last night as i found this new texture pack for 4096x4096 textures, so wanted to give it a try, and the funny thing is i get this pause every now and again now, really dont understand as when i used to play it ages ago it was absolutely fine, ive even dropped it down to its lowest setting, every slider left etc... and no difference the gfx still pause, but the sound still goes fine.

If i tab the inventory bit on and move the mouse up and down constantly every now and again it will pause for like 1-2 seconds, its well weird, and just after the kings attacked for the frist time, and you get renaults sword, the soldier says something to you, it pauses there, but hes still talking, and then the first 2x rats bust through the wall, the first rat kills fine, then when i swipe the second one it pauses for abut 1-2 seconds again, well weird i aint changed nothing on my system at all, apart from drivers so im wondering if it could be related to the 6.8's, as its just a gfx pause by the looks of it with the sound still going, i thought it may happen in other games to, but ive tested a few others, and its just Oblivion it happens in, and the werid thing is dropping it down to lowest settings still does it, so pass if its the gfx drivers or not now.

I thought it was the texture pack at first, but ive even fully uninstalled the game and reinstalled it with no packs/mods nowt and it still the same.
