Get that Dell 30" down cheap!

Hi there
How about a storming deal on the DELL 24" or 30" panels, one of those suit you?
Very nice very nice.
Would one of these fit my good old 2900XT? and if so do you need ram sinks aswell or does the vortex cool the lot?
Thanks
The fan is always going full throttle depending on what you plug it into.
From all accounts the 30" Dells are troublesome.
Yewen, can the Vortex fan be plugged into the card so its speed can be controlled by rivatuner?
Unfortunately, no; it comes with a 3 pin fan header, you have to plug it into the mobo, or the PSU directly (Antec supply a 3pin to molex connector).
Doesn't detract too much from it, would still heartily recommend it!
so even on 100% its not noticeable?
Hi there
I have had mine now for something like 2 years plus, best monitor I have ever owned and I don't understand how a monitor can be troublesome, afterall its not a women is it, now they can be trouble.
About 12 screws off the 4870 cooler, then fit the new one is just 4 screws on the Vortexx.
It is!
I have one, used one on a high end rig, Gibbo has one (yet to fit, he needs to do it tonight!) and a fair few of our technical department either have them or are considering the purchase for their crossfire setups.
You would not guess that we rate them would you, halved the idle temperature on the 4870 that I did and the load never went above the stock idle. The card was fully driver clocked in the ATI driver.
Not in the same league as woman (WRT trouble) but never the less, they have failed to deliver expected quality and performance:

Backlighting issues seem to predominate the complaints

"Conclusion
The 3008WFP-HC is a great and very practical screen but don’t expect high performances. It has poor factory presettings, is subject to latency, input lag, shimmering in movies and it consumes too much energy. If only the inside had gotten as much attention as the exterior!
There are indeed problems. For this reason, we are a bit frustrated and had the impression of not getting our money’s worth. In the end, Dell ambitious price isn’t on par with the actual qualities of its monitor."
oh and build quality aint all that:

Input lag of around 50ms and can be cumlative upto 110 ms
I guess this screen has its place, for graphics design/ photo shop enthusiasts (increased colour gamut and desktop space), but not what I was hoping for in terms of overall performance and responsiveness nor indeed quality.
Unless all of these issues are resolved in the new improved screen you are thinking of selling then I would classify them as "troublesome" wouldn't you ?
