Anyone been watching it this time around? I've not seen any series before, but find myself compelled to watch it for some reason!

Anyone else getting frustrated with some of the decisions being made?

for example, how is Ruby still in?!

Love some of the stuff that has been made, particularly by Frances and Kimberley.

this may or may not need to go into La Cuisine. I couldn't decide

Not watched the most recent one so not sure who went (although I have a good idea).
Frances, is she the one who is style over substance? Can't stand her if it is, I want baked food which tastes good, not fancy decorations!

I also think they need to change it so that they have more time for their own bakes. 3 hours to make bread really isn't long enough. Of course it can be done but my own bread is left to rise and prove for 3 hours, so the prep, knead and bake takes it to 4 hours, and that is a simple loaf. We should be seeing the best they can do, not just what they can cram in in 3 hours. For the technical test, keep the time tight, but not for their own bakes.

I don't think this year has been as good as last year either.

(and yes, it would probably be best in La Cuisine)

And so you posted because...?

Because the OP's post opened with "Anyone been watching it this time around? I've not seen any series before, but find myself compelled to watch it for some reason!". The answer to that is "Hell, no."

If you ask whether people are watching it, you shouldn't only expect affirmative responses... Or do you really like the validation that confirmation bias brings?

Had this been any other year, my response would have been the same! Found myself watching it this year for some reason

Maybe there was a little more interest in it for me this time around due to a bit more love for cooking shows recently :(

Well, one could argue that it is pretty clear that the OP is being rhetorical with his question, and looking for replies from people who do watch it, both those who have watched before, and those watching for the first time.

I seriously doubt he is making a list of people who don't watch it. :p

Lies that's a Creme Caramel!

:p

As for the show I'm quite happy with how it's going where Ruby is concerned she's got the talent and the style but she doesn't have the confidence and she's extremely hectic when it comes to working in the kitchen doesn't make her any less skilled at baking though which is why she's still in.

I want Ruby to win, not only because she doubts herself even when her bakes are the best, but also because she is the least experienced out of the last 3 with her spending so much time on Uni work

You can't stand people on a show about making food...

Get a life?
Perhaps you didn't understand what I said, so I'll try to make it a little simpler. My like/dislike for her or any contestant on any show isn't personal, I don't know them. Based on what this show is about and what each person does, she is a contestant that I don't like. I do have a life so don't worry, I have no personal vendetta against her and won't be campaigning for her to be banned from baking :).

Anyway, I watched the latest episode and wasn't surprised at who went. I think Kimberley will win, she has been very good throughout.

Does anyone else think that Ruby is getting unfair treatment? Even if she makes something rubbish they still like it!

Everyone else gets criticised.

Its tough to say without actually tasting the food, whilst sometimes her bakes can look pretty crap Paul & Mary always seem to be happy with the taste. In the long run the taste is probably the most important factor in their judging vs the look.
